The problem is that the new question is in addition to everything we already have to ask in the current ones. They are making a complete farce of the whole thing

Good point. They might as well send a MYSTERY SHOPPER sash to everyone that gets allocated one. Asking the questions they have at the moment makes it obvious who we are. PS. Everytime I go to complain about the own brand product, the sa, be it male or female, stroke my hand when giving me my money back. Shame 99% of them are mingers. LOL.

    2. Agreed. Bit it's a free night away at a very nice hotel including dinner bed breakfast evening meal and extras.

It may be a nice hotel but you need to think of it in relation to how you are benefitting financially. If you were planning to stay in the area anyway that night and needed a place to stay then fair enough, as you can count what you would have spent on a cheaper hotel as your "fee". But if you weren't even planning on going to the location then it is a waste to go if you're not going to get a decent compensation for the time spent.

You should only consider the freebies as part of your fee if you would have purchased these items/similar items if you were not MSing. Otherwise you end up not actually benefitting.

I have to disagree. My wife and I have had several very enjoyable nights away that would normally cost over £200 (not always with Caroline I might add). It's a luxury we could not afford so, whilst we don't benefit financially, we have a good weekend away from out normal environment. That's the benefit ;)
Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.
  • I see another pile of lost bank card jobs have come up again!! They are even suggesting that you might have to go back a couple of times. Who would want to do these jobs for such a small fee knowing that you could be without your bank card for some time???

Therefore you are benefitting financially, as you would like the luxury and are being given the cash to do so. What I mean is if a person is not really interested in a hotel stay then the fact that it's a nice hotel doesn't make any difference, the reimbursement is not like cash to do something they want with to them, it's like being given the tools to do the job and nothing more.

I've picked up an online & telephone one for two separate 'dormant' accounts so I'm not complaining :j

It depends on your circumstances. Personally I have some dormant accounts I don't use and therefore I won't miss the card. I have been paid to open accounts for MS assignments and have never got round to closing them.

OMG just seen the new ESA question, are they kidding?

As if anybody asks that! my god, if i asked half the staff i encountered to count to ten a significant few would have problems lol (my local ones anyway).

So, asking about the drink you don't buy isn't good enough, asking to find something else isnt, but they want the staff members to provide instructions for tea lol ha ha ha then take back your off sandwhich ha ha ha thats ace!

Don't think i'm gonna bother if any pop up in my area. Don'f fancy having people look at me like i'm a total retard who can't feed myself.

Re: ESA mini supermarket question. I don't have a problem with it. Doing the current scenario makes it obvious you are not a normal customer, asking the new question will make them think you are not a normal customer too. You look like a twit asking for a drink you are not gonna buy and taking something back that didn't cost that much, people look at me like I am mad. They will do the same with the new question. What's the biggie? Am I missing something?

Actually, it doesn't really bother me if the briefs get dafter and dafter.

If I can keep a straight face when I ask, "Where does that Scottish salmon come from?" or "What sort of paint do I need to paint a brick wall?" or "Can you tell me all the types of syrups that go in lattes?" I'm probably going to be OK with anything that ESA throws my way.

I can do the vague old lady act with ease these days ("No, I don't want that cranberry juice - the one I normally buy is in a fluorescent green carton twelve times the size of that one"). You'll find it easier 30 years down the line, Miss Sarah!! Mimi is just an eccentric and does it his way (if he can caress a handbag, he can do anything)!

P.S. December work is trickling in nicely. And, oh boy, I have two trips to Haverhill booked already!:rotfl:

Caroline's hotel jobs are mostly mid week single visits and are definitely ONE night stays, so no weekends away

My point is that she doesn't employ regular shoppers (her choice) until she gets let down. Then she doesn't up any premium for last minute jobs.

Do you know how much SSc gets paid for each hotel visit ?
It's in the region of £200 per hotel:eek:

So she's panicking that SSc won't get their £200 but is not prepared to pay the shoppers a decent fee.

LOL. No, I can't. It was a complete give away. She asked me to hold the bright red handbag and I didn't know how, so I asked her and she laughed out really loudly.

Got a fine dine today. The reimbursement is massive! I can't believe none of my friends were free (even when I told them it was on me!) until finally this girl I know agreed. Hope she doesn't get the wrong end of the stick. Eeeeek!
