TBF that Spanish bank don't need much of an excuse to mess things up, I would hope the bank ESA are assessing are a bit more competant! Having said that I wouldn't do this job if I was without the card for my main account for that long....

Well the ESA bank closed my account and stole my money because I hadn't used it for 6 months! No pre warning letter, nothing. I went into my local branch to do a transaction with another MS Co. And found out my account no longer existed. To get my funds back I would have to write a letter and apply for it. I called them and a bunch of thieving bas***ds and caused quite a scene. Very entertaining for the other customers. Assignment nevertheless abandoned but I got half the fee for my trouble.
  • Someone mentioned a company the other day that I had not heard of before, they do cinemas, Anyway, I signed up with them and now I can't remember who it was!!! That will teach me to use OH laptop instead of my own computer!

We have a joint account, so I was thinking of using hubby's card until mine came through, would the account be completely blocked then?

My partner lost her card for our joint account earlier this year. Took 25 days to get replaced (first replacement lost in post). My card was useless during this time.

I wouldn't risk this scenario on my main account.

I couldn't see the 2 visit part, the branch one is pop in and report lost card, stage 2 wait for card in post and fill out questionnaire once received.

Anyone else with views on this?

You have to try once without giving full details and, if needs be, go back in with the full details (same with the phone ones, etc.), so it will possibly mean going in twice/ringing twice. Then comes stage 2 ...
  • Anyone trying to do an ABA-i report tonight? Soooooooooooo slooooooooooooow and it keeps erroring on me too.

  • I've taken the lost card one. Only had this account cos GR paid me very nicely for opening it a couple of years ago. Has actually been worth having for the ms jobs I can get with it. It's not my main account - would never use this scenario with my regular one.

It was doing that last night. Just what I needed after my extremely stressful day yesterday!
Here I go again on my own....

I've taken one too. I have a couple of accounts I don't regularly used so not having use of the card would not make any difference to me either. I thought it seemed a fair enough fee for something I wouldn't even have to leave the house for, and ESA questionnaires don't seem too bad in general.

And Money Maker - if you get any more GfK phone calls for jobs you can't fit in, send them my way! :D Unless they involve buying anything that goes in the fridge, as it's full to the brim of sodding eggs!!

Oh and while you're here, you didn't happen to be doing the bank job in the little shopping centre today did you? I was in there to pay a cheque in and there was a customer, or maybe a 'customer' in that scenario that I could overhear. I know it's quite a common thing, but it did make me chuckle a bit under my breath a little! :rotfl:
