I know a lot of people diss RE. If it was not for the brattish proof readers, I would not have a problem with them. The visits are varied and the fees are OKish

The fees aren't "OKish" at all. A few (VERY few) of their assignments have fair fees attached, the rest are eith non-existent or laughable.

Glad to see you only use them as fillers though, you'll soon see what the fees can be if you're with the right companies. Gfk aren't bad, but I'm not a fan really. Everyone has their favourites, but RE should be nowhere near the top of anyone's list IMO.

See i like RE (ducks head). I don't get the proofing problems that often, and i can't say i amke a lot of money from them but my attitude is different because of my circumstance. RE are normally 'lunchbreak' work. I can pop into town and get a free top, bit of music, make a call or something else. If i didn't do that i would have no need to leave work.

And i get away with filling my report in AT work lol as they are quite relaxed (aka don't know).

So although it doesn't make money to go into the 'move out before i'm 30 fund' it does get me some little treats at not to much hassel.
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

How much money, realistically, would I make signing up? would it be worth it?

Gap asked me if wanted to do coffee. Do I? The hanging around for 10 mins is such an 'MS' giveaway! Don't you just feel like a total prat? I like the coffee though.

I do these jobs all the time. I go in and sit down as if I'm waiting for someone. Look at a magazine, check text messages (really making a few notes on my phone). Check the loos if necessary then make my phone ring "Oh, hi, yes, I'm here, where are you? .... Oh .. OK .... how long? Oh, right, I'll get a takeout coffee then and see you there ... see you in a minute" .... then I queue up , get the coffee , and scarper and do what I have to do with it!

Depends on who you sign up to, how much you take on and what you get to do, given your location.

Only you know your limits and as you can see from the above comments, people have different motivations for ms'ing.

I made less than £500 last year, but I don't do much and don't live in a big city. I may make more this year as I'm branching out a bit and getting on more people's books but you really have to "suck it and see."

Ooooh, ESA have jumped the fee to 1.5 the original for the travel shops. No one seems to want them in West Yorkshire, they have been sat there for ages!

Hubbie's kicking himself over this - picked one up late last night as he was in the area anyway. If he'd waited till this morning, he would have got the extra fee............

And I'm going to stick up for ESA too - much rather do one of their jobs any day over RE. Staff are reasonable, no stupid proofreading queries and the fees aren't that bad (in general)!!!

Well I've got an interesting report to submit to ABA tonight for one of the petrol visits.

Just as I got to the front of the queue, a customer who had been served before me came back into the shop, barged to the front of the queue saying to the guy serving 'Don't you dare f@$¥#%g call my girlfriend (who was sat in the car) punched him and knocked everything off the counter!

They are definitely only fillers. The fee and the reimbursement for some shops are OK. I did an electrical shop and needed some printer ink, so that worked out well. Also the baby clothing shop is good. Gonna be an uncle again soon, so got some stuff that was on sale. Did a posh clothes shop that had a good reimbursement. Some RE shops I will never touch, like the pubs (OMG, TNS used to have a massive reimbursement!). Like I said, RE is only a filler. If I am gonna be in town, I will hunt and see if they have any RE things there too, might as well mix a React with an ESA and a GFK and a few REs together to make it worth while.

PS. Did a coffee/tea/hot chocolate shop for ESA last month. Did the same coffee/tea/hot chocolate shop for RM this month. Woohoo. Think they keep changing mystery shopping companies.
