I'm not happy with Retail Maxim. I was sent to check a concession in a big store. If the staff member isn't there, you have to hang around and then pop back. Did that and she still wasn't there, so asked another staff member who works for the actual store and she helped. Was told my report was not acceptable as I hadn't shopped the concession staff member.
Even though it wasn't really convenient to go back, I managed to get back on Friday. Yet again the same thing happened and the concession staff member wasn't there either time I visited.
Got a phone call saying I had to go back today but I couldn't fit it in. Was then told that I would not be paid for my efforts as I hadn't given them an acceptable report. I complained and said it wasn't my fault that the staff member wasn't there and I felt it was unfair not to pay me for my time and effort. She said they can't pay as I didn't complete the report.
Think it's really unfair as I've wasted time and petrol doing the two visits and I think I deserve something to cover that.
Sorry to hear that. I have never had a single problem with RM and I get work off them regularly. I have had the above problem once and I just called them after I came out of the concession I was meant to be doing. They asked if I could re-visit another day and I said only if I get mileage for the first visit and they agreed.0 -
Has anyone else noticed that RE have got the proof-reading nazis in at the moment? I keep getting queries re things that were never asked for in the first place and then I get points docked for it too! This space has been intentionally left blank0

If you ffollow the thread, you will see that the Nazi proof readers are well and truely out in force!
Just remember that the points don't mean anything so at the end of the day, although it's an annoyance, particularly when you get multiple queries, which are all as stupid as each other, it doesn't really matter in the grand old scheme of things!!Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
Yup! And I have noticed with RE that the fees are getting smaller and the questionnaires are getting longer  I really look at whether its worth it now - tbh RE must realise that because of this thats why they get so many dropped jobs now?? Great for me because I pick them up when the fee gets to a reasonable level - but come on!!Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0

I found this one this morning
"Please remember the earlier you book, the less you pay!"
followed later on by
"if the cost of the ***** and ***** are £45 – you will only receive £45 reimbursement."
Of course the reimbursement is much higher so who gains by me booking early? I think I am missing the incentive to book early :rotfl:

Best thing to do is make sure you take a print out of the questionnaire that shows all the yellow 'sticky' notes and have them handy for the proofreading queries. I responded to two questions the other day with 'this question asked 'xxxxxx and xxxxx' and did not ask the question you have now posed.
And they have passed it for payment. If they want additional information I will happily supply it, however it will be sent 1st class post with an invoice attached for overtime.0 -
Has anybody any opinion on storecheckers? Their questionnaires seem terribly long for a very small reimbursement? Do they take a long time to pay? Sorry for the silly questions I am sure in a previous life I must of worked for Retail Eyes!No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

I'm just replying to proof reading queries with sarcastic comments. Honestly, some of the stuff they ask is just plain dumb! They are doing my head in big time. However, I have found that some of the allocators are nicer now. They seem to be really helpful and answer questions straight away.0

I was asked, "Could you comment on ********?"
I replied, "Yes, I could comment on ********."
Incidentally, the questionnaire had not asked for comment on this aspect of the visit, so I pointed this out as well!0
