I don't feel so bad now that I had to cancel 4 travel shops today. Another company rang me today and offered me 5 convenience stores for Monday. The fee is the same per store and they are all a lot closer to where I live (within 2 miles). The time it will take to do these is a hell of a lot less than the travel ones would have been. They can keep you in there for what seems like forever sometimes.
Anyone got any tips on how to make a travel experience as quick as possible while still covering all the requirements?0 -

I try to mention, at the very start, that I only have xx minutes left on my car park ticket because I had to queue for ages in the bank. Then I drop in a couple of reminders.;)0 -
Do you all use false names on the travel ones? It says in the report to give your real details but as soon as I give my name their computer brings up a list of all my previous enquiries at other branches  A bit of a giveaway
I've not managed to get out in less than about 25-30 minutesI'll have to try that parking excuse next time.
I wonder if the main tour operator for these has noticed the huge surge in enquiries over the last couple of days. I bet they're not best pleased when they realise that none of the telephone enquiries will turn to real bookings.0 -
Aww, I do feel sorry for some people. Two (entirely separate) shops in two days where the clients are clearly looking for their staff to actively promote a particular deal. Both times, the staff were completely honest and told me that the deal was awful and that I should do something else instead.
They were really trying to genuinely help me and now I'm dobbing them in for it!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

Yes but on a personal level they're being properly honest and ethical, by not selling something they don't believe to be good value.
I'd much rather we had people like that in the world instead of corporate munchers.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

Ask for something specific if the brief will allow it. If you just say something vague like "we were thinking of the Balearic Islands", it'll take them ages to check all the options. If you say something like "friends stayed at the Ariel Apartments in Cala D'Or and said it was really nice. Have you got anything there or somewhere very similar?", it chops out loads of searching through options and various screens
Also don't be too flexible. I can only fly from Newcastle airport and my husband has the time booked off work and it would be difficult to change itHere I go again on my own....0 -

HI,
This really should not happen and the project may well go on hold.

Again im very sorry for this.

Hi Max,
Re Helion job
Happened to me too - a pin code arrived today and a letter saying I'll get my card in a few days. And I didn't sign the paper that she gave me, so its been processed without my signature.
I'll drop you an email too if that's okay?
