I have been recommended the HTC Wildfire and HTC Desire in several different phone shops I've MS'd in the last couple of weeks, and I keep being sooo tempted to get one as they look fab!
Especially the red version of the Wildfire.

I keep being recommended those. I've also noticed that stores are more favourable to Android ones rather than iPhone and Windows phones.

I'm not due an upgrade until next May, so will just stick with the phone I have for now.
Here I go again on my own....

I'm currently in the market for a new smartphone, and would appreciate any pointers (good or bad).

Never had one so don't know what to look for or avoid (other than the advise received in 9 MS visits!)

I'm sure I remember someone mentioning the iPhone on here once or twice ?!

I will give in before Tractor Girl starts on about the iphone:D

I have a desire and find it perfect. In fairness before i got one i just used my mobile for calling but got to the point of being scarred to leave my laptop in case i missed jobs (very unsociable)

The desire does everything i want it to, and for what isn't there i just download an app for it (same as iphone). Haven't used an iphone so cannot compare.
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

Maybe you are the reason that there never seems to be any work nearby lately on RE (although I'm on an RE strike, I still check incase there's anything relevant!)

Only the ones that pay in biscuits.

Trouble is with that idea though is that new phones, deals and software are brought out all the time and things in the industry can change so quickly it might be difficult to keep the info completely up to date!?!

True. But I don't think we'd be advocating particular networks or deals - just the hardware. While the market moves quickly, there are clearly some key consistent players producing solid phones that are worth recommending. We seem to come back to talking about the iphone and various androids quite a bit here. Might be worth highlighting which androids are better in ms terms (and in general hardware terms), and then beyond that what else is any good (e.g., blackberry). I use an htc desire and seem to able to do most stuff - the disadvantage for me is that I don't ms so much and don't use my phone extensively for it. So others may be in a position to comment. As for the ticking off companies on the list if they can be logged into from a phone, we needn't be particularly specific. Could be as simple as "TNS vas: accessible from most internet enabled phones." "RE: variable success using smartphones." etc.

Why not look at the Mobile Phones board?

There's lots on there, but obviously not in relation to MSing, which is the main reason lots of us on here would want one!

  • Has anyone done a react travel assignment with 4 different parts to it? Its taking me all day. Wish I never accepted it now! I am waiting on email quotes and might not receive them in time. Very frustrating. As for their jewellery ones, how long do they normally take?
