  • Just been looking at the pubs on RE (the ones with the recently dropped fees) and it would appear that there are now approx 70 questions less on the questionnaire.

Less questions = less fee by the looks of it.

Shame the other company lost the contract. The fee for them was absolutely gigantic compared to what RE pay. And the report for the other company took about 5 full minutes to do! Boohoohoo!!
  • Does anybody have stockton listed on their RE radius. I picked the wrong shop but must have hit the quota as they all dissapeared. I released the wrong one but can't see any

If you have an iPhone I can thoroughly recommend using the free Dropbox application.

I now save all my cover sheets and questionnaires to Dropbox on my laptop at home, I rarely print anything now, which means that when I am out and about I can read them on my phone. I can even refer to them when I am actually doing a shop and no member of staff could possibly know that I was reminding myself what it was I was supposed to be looking out for. I could be reading a text from a friend for all they knew.

It is also great for photographs. You can take a picture of a shop front on your phone and it will be on your laptop when you get home. I no longer have to hook up my camera to my laptop in order to transfer the pics.

Dropbox is totally free if you use the minimum capacity storage, more than adequate for what I use it for.

I have just downloaded this on to my Android phone and it works a treat. I had to add an app to read pdf files but it was easy to install too and it is really clever. Thank you :T:T

Yeah, but the fee they settle at won't pay for a new car (she's had it 4/5 years) and she has to pay the remainder of the policy (till Feb) and then buy the new car, insure the new car, (loosing 5 years no claims).

So i would reckon she will be a good few hundred out of pocket and it's money neither can afford.

Not really sure why she'd have to wait til Feb to buy a new car-and surely the insurance policy would simply be a transfer to the new car once bought (obviously loaded if she didn't have no claims protection)

If she's saving to buy a new car would it be cheaper to move the policy onto a relatives lower group car in the interim until she buys another or even cancel the remainder of the policy and get a pro-rata credit on the insurance ? (It's not like she has to keep it running to protect her no-claims after all)

I had a similar problem when I was doing Building Society assignments for them. It was a nightmare, and I regularly got paper cuts on my fingers trying to assemble things. Then when I worked out the fee...I soon knocked it on the head!

She doesn't have to wait til feb to buy a new car but thats when this policy is due to expire. You can't cancel the policy as you are comitted to paying the full 12 months even if you don't have the car (looked into this for a friend a while ago).

It may be possible to transfer the insurance when she does get a new car but it depends what they quote. If they say e.g. £60 a month when she could get a new policy at £20 and keep her old one at £30 she would be £10 better off keeping both policy's. Would totally depend.
