Rustproof shower caddy - does it exist?
Comments

Don't buy one from Homebase! I got one and within a few weeks it was rusting. I looked at John Lewis - on the website they have a £25 one but the user reviews complain about rusting! You'd think JLP would have better quality! They do another one guaranteed for 10 years but they want a laughable £150 for it. I don't know why British retailers think it's acceptable to sell shower caddies that are made from a metal which rusts on contact with water! I mean what next? A special offer on chocolate kettles?0

Ours was from b&q, same rusting. There are some that look quite smart on e-bay made of plastic with strong suction cups. Unfortunately all clear ones are sold out in the basket tray style0

You get what you pay for. I coughed up for this one in September. It has a ten year guarantee. I trust that it won't rust.

Definitely agree with pimento.......we've always bought chrome-plated brass caddies/baskets for our showers. We have a Samuel Heath caddy that's around 16 years old and not a sign of any rust - not sure of the cost, but not cheap iirc.
Recently we bought two baskets for our new shower rooms - a Hansgrohe (retail around £150) and a Keuco (retail £85). Admittedly we were fortunate to be able to get both with a 20% discount from a friend with a showroom, but I'd have still bought them regardless. Both are again chrome plated over brass and I'd expect not to have to replace these for a very long time.....if ever.
Buying cheap when it comes to this sort of thing is a false economy imho as you end up forking out for replacements which works out just as expensive in the long run
'You should always buy the best you can afford' was what my grandma used to sayMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Why are they chrome anyway?
Is there a rubber version. Or plastic?
I got some toilet caddies for my home some months back from Better Living, Toronto --stainless steel models, and they are doing great. They've got some excellent pieces as well. Try visiting dispenser.com/storit/0 -
£120 for a caddy in the shower!!!!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

Go to Home Bargains and get two different sized plastic ones. Both come with suction cups and I have had 2 in my shower for the past 2 years. Neither of them have fallen off - even though loaded - and there is NO RUST. Just the job0

I bought the Wenko stainless steel one from Amazon for £20, it uses a silicone adhesive fixing which is easy and holding fine on tiles or alternatively can be screw fixed.

Check out the wooden shower caddy and the one made from electrical wire. These are the new trends in bathroom shower accessories. I recently bought some of the brand new stylish accessories from Better Living. Even though they are Toronto based, the distribution of their products were there in our place.0
