Rustproof shower caddy - does it exist?

I'm fed replacing the chrome shower caddies that rust after a while.

Why are they chrome anyway?

Is there a rubber version. Or plastic?

Hi I bought dispensers from here and they are brill. On their site they have trays guaranteed rust free.

I've been searching as well for my bathroom.

The best I found was in John Lewis - somewhat typically I can't find it online now to demonstrate - but in store I'm sure that I saw a stainless steel bathroom shelving unit (flat or corner) for approximately £25 (no, it wasn't cheap!).

Online I can only see chrome-plated ones, but I'm sure that in store I saw the stainless steel one; which of course would be much better
  • This is a truly elusive product.

Having extensively googled and search all over the internet it would seem the choice is either to continue with the cheapie chrome ones and keep replacing them as they rust away - or spend enormous amounts of money on stainless steel ones.

  • this bugs me too, i don't get why they make it out of chrome when it's going in a shower. ridiculous, mine barley went 6 months before it started rusting!

For stainless steel try Zack or Blomus, both beautiful but expensive! I have a Zack tin opener and Blomus bottle opener and they are amazing quality, solid and incredibly heavy. Once in a lifetime purchases.

Back to bathrooms proper ... I have a stainless steel corner shelf from Habitat that was only £15. Amazon sell the Satina double corner shelf for £23 and three tier wall tidy for £27.50 both of which claim five year rustproof. eBay have a suction lock shower basket for £13 which again claims to be rust-free stainless steel.

Have you tried a boats chandlers? Stuff on boats is normally stainless steel for obvious reasons. They may have something that would be appropriate for your needs.
