And I've reached another milestone today - 40%!

I love seeing the percentage go up. It more motivating to me for some reason than seeing the £ figure going down.

Going to be another pretty tight month as we are going away for a week to a wedding. Really looking forward to it and I've set aside £400 (we're only paying for accommodation for two nights). I'm not sure if it'll be enough so I'm going to try and underspend in other parts of the budget. I have money in allocated savings that I could use in a pinch.

    £138 towards the overdraft today.

That means I've now been able to transfer another £500 into the current account. So I've paid off £1500 of my overdraft. It's been in plus balance for over a week now - that hasn't happened in almost 10 years!

Also, I'm going away on Thursday for a week. I want to make sure I get most of my monthly overpayment done before I go because I don't want to miss target just because I'm on holiday.

The extra money in the bank account also means I won't have to worry about going more overdrawn than the plan when I'm away. I'm taking cash on holiday and hoping that everything will tick along nicely with the DDs etc on the current account.

Another £72.42 which takes me up to 41%. Love seeing those figures go up!

Luckily we are being treated to a few meals out this week so I haven't had to do any grocery shopping - saved money will go into the holiday fund.

  • Back from holidays which was fantastic.

Did overspend as we extended our stay by three days but it was worth it. I've already amended next month's budget to pay most of the overspend off. Still managed to hit my overpayment target this month so it's not too bad.

In other news, have hit £10k paid off since my LBM last September! I didn't really believe that we could do it, especially as our quality of life is SO much better now that we have a proper budget.

  • Wow, just read your thread at work (oops!) and cant believe the progress youve made in such little time, and it seems relatively painless?! (not detracting from what you've achieved). I have similar starting debts to you circa 20K all on cards which ive been rotating on 0% free deals but dont seem to be getting anywhere even tho' my salary is similar to yours.

You have given me more inspiration to try again..harder..

Thanks and keep up the good work!
