To avoid getting caught out as best you can, list the phone for UK buyers only.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

    Okay,

The second 'buyer' has 'paid' me, This one could fool a new e-bayer who has not sold reasonable value items before. Some of the contents include:

This email confirms that Mr Bob Ikedia, have paid XXX@XXX.com £96.76 GBP using PayPal.

Make sure you never provide your password to fraudulent websites
You should never give your PayPal password to anyone, including PayPal employees

I have blanked out my email, but also spot the gramatical error. It then follows,

Note:This PayPal®payment has been deducted from the buyer's account and has been " APPROVED" but will not be credited to your account until the shipment tracking number is sent to our customers service @ PayPalFunds@emailaccount.com for shipment verification so as to secure both the seller and the buyer

Anyone ever heard of ths sort of service? Of course not because it does not exist. Besides which what would stop you from making a shipping number up if this service did exist?

    After that,

For more information on protecting yourself from fraud, please review our Security Tips at https://www.paypal.com/us/securitytips.

To safely and securely access the PayPal website or your account, open a new web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Netscape) and type in the PayPal URL ( https://www.paypal.com/us/) to be sure you are on the real PayPal site.:

    0775-1108-9321-3941-9139

Let us all note that the links are NOT to the real paypal site but should an unsuspecting person type this link in and then input the account detail, they will be stolen.

This is the first time this stuff has happened to me and to be honest if I were not used to selling smaller items I could be quite convinced.

Just for a giggle I sent the 'shipping conformation number'

    Hi,

The shipping number is XC3487DCV, please could you now credit the money to my account. I need it to pay for medicine for three little orphan boys that I look after and keep safe.

    Many Thanks

we had a big rip off from a buyer from nigeria and have since learned its a hotspot for ebay fraud. You may be sent a fake paypal reciept so just be careful. We ended up having to relist it after 3 trys stating "NO BUYERS FROM NIGERIA ACCEPTED" i thought our auction would be targeted by an anti racist movement!!

It makes you wonder what is it with Nigeria that they have so many scammers? It's almost as if they have some kind of school over there which teaches how to use ebay and part of the course includes trying to swindle mobile phones in this manner.

Yes theres a university dedicated to teaching them scams, a straight up non corrupt Nigerian told me this ( hang on, was he scamming me by telling me this hahahahah)
And yes the lady in the avatar is me

Am sure I read somewhere that scamming is one of Nigerias main sources of income (dont know if this is 100% factual)

If I ever get an email from someone from Nigeria wanting to purchase something I just go into autopilot mode and tell them where to go as they are all scammers.

I find it funny they way they come up with stories like the following when emailing you "I am buying this phone for my cousin in Nigeria who is a Dr and requires a phone urgently, I will send payment straight away and need you to send the phone straight to him" YEAH RIGHT
