Phone bought by American to post to Nigeria

Options
I had my old phone on e-bay a woman has bought it at the buy it now price and asked for P&P to Nigeria. I have told her the only way this will happen is for her to pay via paypal and accept I take no responsibility for it outside of the UK.

This sounds suspect so I have tried to cover myself, can anything go wrong if she does pay via paypal?

Also she is a brand new user

I have had a couple of these in the past. Personally I cancel the sale and report it to ebay for my money back. There is something very dodgy in them.

don't touch it with the biggest bargepole in the world

it will be a stolen card and you will lose both the phone and the money when Paypal take it back

Was thinking that myself. Will see if they respond to my request for £27 P&P. If they question it I may look a little more favourable then if they just pay up

If I was you I would cancel the auction as you are destined to be ripped off, as soon as the word Nigeria is mentioned run a mile as they are all scams and have a look at https://www.149eater.com

Just email the buyer and tell them you wont post to Nigeria and opena a dispute via ebay and use the option "buyer wants item sending to counrty I do not offer" so you can claim your fees back
Will see if they respond to my request for £27 P&P
Not being funny but if it is a scammer then they will offer to pay whatever postage price you tell them as the money does not exist and they will get the goods and the money will be cancelled and you will be out of pocket

Nigerian scammers are rife on ebay and they tend to go for electrical items especially mobile phones, if you re-list the phone put in big letters "I DONT SHIP TO NIGERIA SO DONT BID" this may sound harsh but it will save you a lot of time and hassle and I have noticed many auctions stating for Nigerians not to bid

    It's a scam..just in case you missed that..IT'S A SCAM.

Taking paypal for any phone going overseas would be foolish as they can just chargeback when the phone does not arrive, and you can't even cover yourself with insurance as RM will not insure mobiles over £32.

She won't! Trust me! If she does I'll match what she pays! ;)

    Whenever I sell a phone or anything I alwyas put at the top of my auctions something like;

'Let me get this straight, I do not post outside of the UK. Nigeria is not in the UK so don't even ask me to send it there. I don't care how desperately your doctor of a cousin needs this item. I won't be scammed and I certainly do not accept Western Union! To all genuine bidders I apologise but it's to protect this auction. Happy bidding.'

    Always works for me! :D

Hi Scouser, I'm like you I make it clear in my phone listings that I am completely aware of the 419 scam and do not post overseas for anyone, not even the pastors cat. I've never had a single problem selling a mobile, so maybe it works?

    hello seller ,
happy to hear from you, i want to inform you now that i have made that payment via paypal, the total sum of GBP 96.27 into your account please as soon you have seen the payment confirmation from the paypal kindly ship out the item fast and get to me so i can know what to do and here is the address of my son where i want the item to be sent to

I am 99% sure now that this is a scam. This is the third time they have asked for it to be shipped fast. How long would it take for a fraud on a credit card to be found out?
