NHS discount book & gold card???

Not heard of the Gold Card but NHS staff can get some savings in our local area from time to time. Usually at restaurants.

Hi all ... I have a normal NHS card which gives discounts on local things as others have mentioned ... I was just wondering how i get my hands on a Gold Card? Can any one help?

I have a gold card, but have never found anywhere to use it.

Not sure if this is the same on the top it says 'first medical Gold Privilege Card' with NHS written in it and under it it says ' NATIONAL STAFF BENEFIT PROGRAMME'.

If this is the same can I use it in Nandos, Subway or Pizza Hut?????

I work for the NHS (in Preston) and have never heard of this gold card or a discount card either. I am a member of NHS Discounts but never use it.

What's the normal NHS card? I've got a pass but nothing else. I believe if you show this at Outfit you get 10% off

Sorry I just meant my ID badge ... I show this and it gets me discount in local places, such as our vets and MOT place ... i didnt know about Outfit tho .. there is one near me thanks x

I'm in Manchester and haven't heard of the gold card. I've seen the nhsdiscouts page at its really awkward to navigate and does nothing that worthwhile. I do get £5 a month off at Fitness First gyms because I work for the NHS. A few years ago our Trust did a staff handbook which advertised special offers for staff. I look at using the discount with Vision Express but it was still really expensive for my lenses and got them from Asda instead.

We usually get our pay sliips delivered to work but a few months ago some were missing and got posted to peoples homes. Those that were posted got the gold card but the rest of us didn't. From what I can gather there wasn't much of interest in it.
