In many approvals to planning permissions to pave over and create a driveway on the front garden of a property, the requirements explicitly state that vehicle(s) should not be parked with the rear against the properties, due to potential fumes going through open windows, vents, etc. of the occupier and neighbouring houses.
So many people need to drive in/reverse out to comply with the requirements of the local authority.

I always thought it was illegal to reverse onto a road from a side road or entrance anyway?0

Do not reverse from a side road into a main road. When using a driveway, reverse in and drive out if you can.
Underline mine. Open to interpretation (perhaps even by LA Planning)."Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

The numb-nuts who don't bother giving way on roundabouts and do the slow rolling thing over the double dotted lines into the lane....give way means stop you numpteys! If you crash into my car I reserve the right to hit you and if you do it with my children in the car I will kill you.....phew and breathe! Me road rage...never ;-)Starting again and working towards our new df life!A very proud forces wife0

That throws an interesting perspective onto it.
I still think that if someone reversed off their drive, causing an accident then they could be charged with driving without due care as per the highway code quoted above.I doubt the police would care much for some planning conditions.0 -

No it doesn't. Only have to stop if you need to give way to someone else. There is a separate line that means stop.
If they do the slow rolling thing and slot in behind you then that is perfectly fine, so long as they aren't cutting up someone already behind you.
It's also more economical and better for the environment as it saves fuel and wear on brake pads0 -
People getting right up my boot even doing 65-70 mph on the motorway.
Yesterday, one car got so close and when I braked for lights he nearly banged into my rear!
Also, a women rolled her car back on my bumper recently, when she let go of the foot brake before applying the handbrake!
Did £130 worth of damage, luckily got her reg number as she drove off after hearing the crunch, Police are investigating now for failing to stop.0 -

The problem is they don't slot in behind at our local roundabout is partically bad. There's glass and car debris on a daily basis. I've lost count the amount of times I'm on the roundabout and they kept rolling forward into the first lane on the roundabout. I've had numerous near misses, were I'm on the roundabout and had to brake sharply so I don't hit them. The last time it happened, the driver overshot the line so much that I had to give way to him because he had blocked the lane. I'm pleased they're saving their break pads! If people can't judge their speed/ distance they should always stop. It's a dangerous habit and causes needless accidents. Give way means stop in my book when someone is already in the lane and your way ahead is blocked, perhaphs I didn't explain myself properly.Starting again and working towards our new df life!A very proud forces wife0 -

Just because you're going at that, it can mean a) your speedo is not accurate, or b) the person behind you wants to go faster.
I regularly cruise on motorways at around 80+, so coming up against you pootling along in the outside lane at 65/70 ain't gonna best please me, so put it in someone elses shoes who would happily tailgate you because of that.0 -
I don't get particularly wound up. As I drive for a living I'd be in Intensive Care within a week if I let things get to me.
Plus, I'm not perfect & will hold my hands up to making the odd mistake/misjudgement (which I do apologise for)... I'm pretty sure we all do!
Not sure if this is classed as road rage, or if you have them near you, but I'd like to take a cricket bat to the idiots who thought it was a good idea to have pedestrian crossings 20-30 yds from a roundabout on every exit!
Perfect for fouling up the traffic & making the roundabout pretty much pointless.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0
