Regardless. If you can post on a Monday, possibly the busiest PO day, you can do it Friday or Saturday at the latest. How hard can it be?

well thats the point of dispatch estimates.
how hard can it be? well strangely enough i cant reply for every eBay seller but strangely enough some folks cant so thats just the way it is
do you not have a job, family, partner, commitments?

Shouldn't be selling on ebay then. I can't answer for everybody either, I just look at these things logically. Is it a prisoner on day release? A Trappist monk with one day off? I've never understood why someone would give a dispatch estimate of more than a day.
The OP didn't say that was the estimated time, just that he was told.

I too expect my goods to be posted promptly after payment received by seller. By that I mean posted the next working day.
My Co-op post office stays open until 6pm.

I have no patience with sellers who cannot be bothered to despatch promptly.

Frankly, if someone works full time and sells on Ebay then this should be stated this in the listing and state exactly which of the day of the week you can get to PO. Anything less is poor customer service.
    Ebay is not a hobby!
I too am a seller on Ebay.

    That's just how it is.

Sellers can state dispatch estimates how they like, but in reality most buyers are going to mark them down if they take too long.

Rubbish. I normally post the day after I receive payment, but I have a post office within walking distance of my office.

However, I cycle to work and sometimes the parcel won't fit in my bag. On these occasions I ask my OH to post it, but if he can't do it for any reason the seller may have to wait another day.

No big deal, as a buyer I can wait a couple of days - the world isn't going to end if my item is a day or two late.

It may well be regarded as a hobby for some folks but if a seller takes my money then it's a business transaction and I expect a business-like approach from them.
I am not a regular seller on Ebay, just sell things when I need to de-clutter and only sell things that I would wish to buy. I take a pride in giving the best service I can and I state clearly when I will despatch.
I expect similar service when I buy and move on if a seller states that they despatch in more than a couple of working days after receiving payment.
    It's hardly rocket science.

  • omg is all i can say! just because you sell on ebay doesn't mean you don't have a life. I post every other day and if a buyer doesn't like my dispatch time it's quite simple they can buy elsewhere or wait. Buyers expect too much from sellers on ebay all my buyers recieve their parcels within a week (thats mostly down to 2nd class postage but you try buying off m&s, tesco the list goes on and you'd be looking at the same sort of delivery times. Try la redoute i just waited 3 weeks for my order, if i did that to one of my buyers i'd have had a neg and a case opened by now.
Ebay is a part time thing for most, part time meaning i have other things to do, doesn't mean i should be banned from selling. Buyers have a choice.
  • Well I still haven't recieved my item :(

The money went out my account last week, he said he'd post them Monday first class.

First class has never taken more than a day to from my experience.
