    Afternoon Pen :wave:

    Did buy some pork in the end, cheapest thing I could find so I've dashed home and chucked it in before I do the rest of my chores. Oh and Miss P, I've taken note of your text last night and accidently forgot the fabric softener in OH's washing, cold this time of year out on the buses innit, specially when you have scratchy long johns lol :rotfl:

    Hope OH is enjoying his birthday cake ;) xx

    Funny day today on the eating front as I've been out dancing (early St Andrew's Day do). So no roast but did enjoy a quick 'carbonara type' pasta with bacon, Philly, garlic, mushrooms and peas.

    Glad to hear that normal service is soon to resumed!
  • Morning all from a poorly Miss P...sinuses are killing me and feel generally rubbish. Staying home from work today.

    Comfort food all the way today.....muffins for breakfast, chicken soup for lunch and whatever I can be bothered to cook tonite!:)

    Jo - :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:(need I say more??)

    OH STILL hasn't cut the cake!!!

    Miss P

    As ever on Mondays it'll be stir-fry later. Chicken marinating as we speak.

    Had home made KFC last night (burnt....obviously ;))

    Dunno what will have today yet, really can't be arsed to move out of the chair. It's snowing which means everyone should be made to stay at home and drink coffee and watch xmas films on the telly.

    I'm never sure about all the 'advice' given about not travelling unless essential etc. I think it needs to be more specific. Does it mean don't go to work, school etc or just don't go out shopping??? Obviously some people can work from home but what about nurses, teachers etc?

    We've had cooked breakfast (egg, mushroom, tomatoes on toast) so far and I anticipate a lot more hot food being served up today.

    I know what you mean about the travelling Maman. My works, although not an essential service, do expect everyone to attempt to get to work. A couple of years ago we were even out in the car park shovelling ice and snow so our 40ft trailers could get out!!

    Your breakfast sounded yum. Menu in piggy house.....toast and marmite for breakfast, heinz beef stew and dumpling soup for lunch and sausages, jacket pots, cheese and beans for tea.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It gets better and better!!

    We had plaice and chips and peas and cauliflower cheese. I like plaice but can't be as*ed with all the bones. It's back to haddock or cod next time.
