    Why so grouchy? :)

It wasn't an 'offer' - it was a mistake which many people tried their luck with. If it was a genuine offer and I ordered 3, it wouldn't be taking the p*ss, now would it?

I don't expect to get the TVs and I'm really not taking it seriously.

I do want my £20.01 back though (6p for the TVs, £19.95 for the postage)!!

Ooo, that expensive postage considering the cost of the TV's. I would have thought they could have at least reduced postage as you were buying 3 afterall. ;)

There seems to be more than a touch of:- "If I missed that "offer" I don't see why anyone else should get it " about this thread :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Hello moneysavers!!

I have just placed an order with comet who had posted on their website an LG tv for 2 pence. They have taken the item off the website now but before they did I was able to place an order for which I printed an order confirmation complete with delivery date etc.

Since then I received an email stating there was a problem with my payment, In fact all my colleagues did, before receiving a final email stating that the order would not be processed as the item was not in stock. In addition to this they stated that the order would be cancelled as the item was out of stock.

Now I appreciate this was an opportunistic moment but does an order confirmation give me any rights as a consumer? Are they able yo cancel an order due to stock issues? Hope I have explained this well enough.

    Many thanks

I cant believe that you are talking about consumer rights, it was an obviously a genuine error, instead of accepting it you just want to bang on about consumers rights, people like you make me

Know ur rights and right ur wrongs, You sound so desperate ''does an order confirmation give me any rights as a consumer''. Flippin hell, tv's are so cheap these days, go on and buy one.

    Good riddance:mad:
  • Wow, some people are really off hand. All these people did was ask a question.

Anyway as for the rights, I dont know anything about them, what I do know is 2 weeks ago in gamestation in Gainsborough I purchased a PS3 game. There were a few copies of the game but me being me and knowing that shops make mistakes noticed one was priced at less than half the price of the others ( all were pre owned and all had covers )

Maybe instore its different than online, they knew it was wrong, their systems gave them the correct price but they still allowed me to pay £6 instead of £15.

Also while working at argos we have allowed products to be sold if priced incorrectly, funnily enough one of those was a Alba 32" HDTV where wrong price had been stuck on. It was £200 over £300.

I suspect its store discretion, or manager as it was at argos but it does happen.

2p for a TV though, even a 1960s TV is low.

I ordered one of the 2p TV's never really expecting to receive one, however Comet have now messed up again, as they sent an email from their customer service department stating that it was an error and the product wont be delivered, but to over 500 customers with everyone's email addresses being visable to all.

Serious breach of data protection act! comet are now not replying to my emails or saying anything about the fact that 500 people have my email address.

Any advice on what I can do?

Dude, they let you pay £6 because it was a £9 difference, and as for the argos tv, its a £100 difference, quite an amount but recoverable

But the tv is £300 something, so to expect to get for 2p is stupid
I dont mind people trying to attempt to get one at 2p, but to moan and bang on about 'our rights' after its been published as a mistake makes me red with rage:mad:

Ive said it once and im going to say it again, tv's are so bloody cheap go and buy one, otherwise go into retail electrical shops and ask them do you have any TV's for 2 Pence?

They will take one look at you and :D:D:D
  • Alas, some one who speaks sense
Where the bloody hell do these people pop up from, banging on about 'rights'. Bloody idiots!!
