Hard drive for packard bell easy note

Hi there,
Ive been told that my sons laptop needs a new hard drive and i was wondering if anyone can advise me on what type to buy to replace the broken one, his laptop is a Packard Bell easynote MH35, im really clueless about what will fit his machine and i wantto make sure i get the correct one.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

thank you, im not so bad sorting out the less technical things such as viruses n such but when it comes to actual hardware ive no idea, when i try to start his laptop up it says "please wait while windows sets up your computer" then does nothing even when left for hours, if i start in safe mode it gets stuck at system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys this is why i was told he needs a new hard drive as its corrupt!!£2 coin savers club = £118

try safe mode with command prompt, if it boots, run chkdsk c: /F
there are 2 types, pata and sata, if it's quite new it will be sata, then you need the system recovery disk to reinstall windows.!!
