I had a bad experience with my ex husband running up a huge overdraft on out joint account which I was liable for when he did a runner, I've recently got married again and its indvidual accounts. After taking control of my finances and running a house and family on my own for 10 years I am a bit of a control freak about money, but we both have our own accounts and hubby gives me money every payday towards bills, it also seemed easier to do this as all the household direct debits come out of my account, the thought of setting up a new account for the bills just seems too much hassle!
