Hi DT - and Happy Birthday whenever that may be....:D

RE: Pruning the roses - I am by no means an expert - or even experienced :o But my MiL is. When we moved here, she walked me around the garden identifying plants and telling me how to look after them. I do love gardening - though I was limited to mainly containers in my last house as the gardens were so tiny.
With the climbing rose - I don't know how to identify a rambler from a climber - but I think the pruning method is the same - I think....

MiL said anytime before the end of March is enough time. The advice seems to be to cut them back by 2 thirds to just about an outward facing bud. Make the cut diagonally with clean secateurs, away from the bud, so the rain doesn't get in. We've got a climber and a couple of trees and shrubs. My MiL said they'd been neglected for years and was brutal with the shrubs :o She cut any branches that crossed or touched and cut out any dead branches. Although it's time consuming - I have to say it's also very therapeutic :)

Hope that doesn't sound like sucking eggs, as I'm only learning myself - from her and Alan T's books, BBC gardening website is also good. I'm going to ask Pippilongstocking for advice as she's very knowledgable. HTH :)
  • Hope the operations are all moving forward DT xxx

So now I just need to keep going!
Nearly half way through the year and I'm still here :D
  • Still waiting to hear from the Solicitors regulation authority about my application but they have cashed the cheque which is hopefully a good sign.

I am really mad that I missed a course that only runs once a year for women solicitors wanting to return to work which was last weekend

I do have a couple of courses in mind as soon as I receive the go ahead from the SRA so hopefully will be up and running soon.

I have also been doing some studying :D

One set of accounts is back from the auditor so done and dusted and the next set has to be done by Thursday so once they are out of the way I will have more time for study.

I have been having a check of the finances and as I result of the shortfall which I have not completely made up yet I calculate that cashflow will get difficult in 4 weeks time leaving me about 6 weeks short of payday the mortgage and direct debits are covered until payday but not the rest so I will either have to not pay my CC that I use for my day to day purchases off in full or use my overdraft probably the latter as I reckon it will be cheaper a nuisance but unless there is a massive upswing in fortune soon not something I can do much about. I will just have to be extra careful.

I have had my hair done today I did consider not having it done but it looked awful so not creating a good impression for any networking I might be doing in the next few weeks and birthday money should virtually cover it ;)

OS is home from Uni for the weekend and we are all going out for lunch tomorrow courtesy of Mom :A and she has bought me a camera for my birthday so looking forward to using that tomorrow :)
so a good weekend in store.

I have been told that I have to go to bed early tonight not sure why usually I am last up but I am taking my laptop so normal surfing rights will exist although I will have to finish earlier than I would if I was on my own downstairs :(

Actually its quite nice don't know how long OH will be so I will enjoy it while it lasts as I think typing away in bed may be a tad annoying for him :D
