Just think about the $$$'s DT! You might not need to do it for so many years, but it could really change your life and reduce this kind of stress :)
  • Well I am back from Mr. T's and despite an expensive week with Cardiff trip, train ticket and today buying an HMV voucher because I didn't have a present suitable to post for a 20yr old I have managed to end up £11.80 under budget :j:j:j:j:j

Not going out again today so that's the end of another week and a bit to add to the shortfall fund :D I did think that I might go over this week and had considered leaving the voucher until the beginning of the week but that would have meant an extra trip into town which would have been a waste so I am glad I resisted the temptation. I shall make a card for her and the children will make a card for their friend in the morning so that is good.

I am off for my thinking bath time - I know its a strange time to have a bath but I have to grab any opportunity I can ;)

And yes Macgirl you were right to say told you so just needed to be in the right place I suppose before I could take this step losing the weight has made a huge difference to my confidence I would not have considered this 12 months ago :o

I think this is the absolute way forward as you worked hard for the qualifications so why not use them. This is probably the right time for you as you have your confidence back.
excellent news on staying within budget especially with the extras you've had to pay for.

    What they all said :D

If you can update your qualifications and find work on a casual, but regular, basis, it may be the answer. I know you hated it, but it will give you some security. Are we talking civil stuff, conveyancing, wills etc? It may even be that you could do some work from home, with access to all the necessary case management software etc.

At least look into it as a possibilty.

Good news on staying in budget too!

Yes we are talking conveyancing, wills, probate and trust administration which is what I specialised in before because it fitted in better with part time work which is what I was doing before I finished. I have worked from home before but in some ways I would prefer to keep things office based as it would separate my work/home life balance but we shall see I will be flexible.

Well couldn't think of a reason not to do it in the bath so looks like decision made :) I need to talk to my friend and sort some courses and then go for it. I have even assessed my wardrobe OK for interview and then afterwards it will depend on how formal the office is and whether smart trousers are acceptable if they are I should be OK if not I will have to get another couple of skirts can't say I am not organised ;) just have to find a job now :D

Good luck with it all DT!
  • Thats fantastic news! Is there any additional legal work you could do where your knowledge of the fostering and adoption processses would come in useful?

There are loads of locum jobs for childcare lawyers working for local authorities but that is mainly litigation based which I don't really enjoy and I would have to retrain as I have only ever done criminal litigation I suspect there are lots of jobs available as it is very stressful and they are off sick so not a direction I want to head in if I can help it :(

  • Its a shame its so stressful as it would be a bonus to people that you know what they are going through. But stress is not what you want or need. x

PS - I have a shiny new lappy! Staples gave me full refund which I promptly spent with them knowing how good they were over the machine HP would not recall :T
