Sorry for the lack of update no internet access.
Picked up OS from hospital on Friday took 4 hours when should have been 45 mins max couldn't take him back to his house because of snow so came to hotel for the night but the room was miles from the lift so had to transport him on the transit chair which they use in case of fire and that was quite a feat as he is a big lad. Left Cardiff on sat morning after being pushed out of the car park by three of the hotel staff and eventually made Birmingham by 4.30pm OH couldn't get down from Wales as his car was stuck half way up our lane.
This morning made decision to go home even though I knew I wouldn't be able to get OS to the house without a 4x4 so if necessary prepared to stay at travelodge just up the road as at least I would be able to walk home and assist OH with shopping etc. by getting my car as near as possible without getting it stuck. Spoke to a doctor friend of ours to see whether there was any possibility of using a 4x4 ambulance and he announced they now have a 4x4 and ifI could get to their house they would try and take OS home and then I could park my car on the bottom road and walk home. Otherwise their guests hadn't turned up and we could stay with them. Managed to get to their house and they managed to get OS home so we are all safely installed and OH trudged up and down our lane to empty my car which was stuffed full of stuff - so we are all safe and sound and my car is available to go shopping in tomorrow to get groceries.
Good job I didn't manage to wrap those christmas presents as I had them with me and was able to deliver them as otherwise I would have left them with OH to bring down he was disappointed not to make the reunion but we are planning a rerun in the new Year.
So the end of a very stressful week and I am so glad to be home OS is still in quite a bit of pain but he is relieved to be home too.
New Year wish for a quiet peaceful non eventful year this has certainly been a year I would rather forget

My word DT, that sounded like extreme challenges getting home, but well done you. Much better all round to have OS home. Very tiring and stressful for all of you, but you made it.
Wishing OS a speedy recovery from the op, and you a speedy recovery from all the stress!

He is still in pain had to take bandage off tonight and the dressing has leaked quite a bit we are not allowed to take it off just put a new one on top so haven't seen full extent of incision yet. Stitches will come out on the 29th.
Police were supposed to ring but didn't but there is so much snow in Cardiff that they are probably very busy they did say the CCTV would have been wiped by now so I don't think there is much chance of catching anyone. OS will phone them again tomorrow.

What a journey ... the hotel staff and your doctor friend really sound like they pulled out all the stops, and thats heartening.
But on the whole, yes - apart from your physical transformation and becoming much healthier, a terrible year for you - maybe 2011 will be the year you turn it all around and find your new direction? I'll be rooting for you, DT.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Glad he's home, but sorry to hear that you had yet another ordeal. I think that the Universe will be a lot kinder to you in 2011. Take care of yourself xxx0 -
