I strongly recommend you buy before your trip and not during :D
  • That bedroom is so lovely, she must be really happy with it. And as for the hotel.. do presents from Santa get wrapped? Or are you just packing it away until the day.

Deffo get a coat, dont' think layers of cardi's will work north of the border. I only possess jackets, and have had to resort to a HUGE full length, pure wool cardi/coat to keep warm.

Well done on getting past the first stage, competency based interviews are better than old fashioned ones were you had to revise, but its never easy.

F_F you'd better get a push on, before DT arrives.

DT, about the coat - frankly, I'd borrow one from OH! Or a local friend/family member who knows about your trip? Trains do break down, they do sometimes even lose heat - I absolutely understand not buying one beforehand, of course, but just as an emergency measure.

The photos are lovely! The rooms are lovely, and the house is too - and its **huge**! I was thinking of you and dolls houses today on the train to my accountant actually - there was a retired builder who makes model houses now, and they sell for £1000 a time. I'll hunt it out and find the details for you.

With the census interview thing, remember what a census interviewer does - they make sure that people have filled the form in correctly, so they may be interviewing people themselves, or working in several foreign languages (Hindi? Polish? it isn't just Welsh you'd need :) and you can't have them all!) Exactly the skills you have as a foster parent will make you a great census official - don't get too hung up on it being an interview.

DT, here's the link to the article on that bloke:
    http://www.metro.co.uk/news/848701-model-tudor-homes-selling-for-1000

Only posting now so you can see what I was rambling about - there's no way its a cost effective business, he handcrafts everything, it must take ages. But the principle is sound - there's niches even in today's market, that you can exploit if you use the web.

Hi DT - *Love* the hotel! Little DD was looking over my shoulder wide eyed and said "Please can I have that?" I've got her the Sylvanian hospital and family of rabbits, but it looks a bit sad next to that :o

As for coats, DEFO get one. I go to Glasgow every December and it is *freezing* (even for a tough Northern bird like me :D), so please try and get one - and have a great time :)

What about heading to a charity shop in search of a warm coat DT? Shouldn't cost too much and would do temporarily! It just has to do the job of allowing you not to become a DT shaped icicle until you find the perfect coat on your shopping trip! You'll definitely need one if its like this at the weekend - according to the BBC weather website Glasgow is due to be 0degC max to -7degC min and light snow showers on Saturday!

DT with the wind chill it will feel even colder. Also you've lost a lot of weight, and actually the one downside is you'll feel the cold more without the insulation.

So do try to borrow something, you can pop it into a carrier bag after you've bought something nicer to replace it.
  • I can't hear you :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

but I have redone my bracelet :j:j:j

need to stop jewellery now as the little ones will be home and wanting to help

can't do my assignments as the books I have ordered from Amazon haven't turned up yet :(

so will just have to mooch around the threads :)
