Put it another way. £71.88 per year. I have done a quick comparison on an insurance website. I can get £40k insurance cover for a house in London for about £80 per year. Include accidental insurance and add on £1,500 for items away from the home (that covers your phone, a laptop and a cycle easily) and the quote goes up to £100. If you already have home insurance just put your phone on its cover, using my example that's only £20 per year or £1.66 per month.
Mobile insurance is one of the biggest scams going. Put it on your home insurance. If you don't have home insurance then get it because you'd only be paying £2.30 odd more than the insurance price on that phone to get a decent deal.0 -
It's a real rip off insuring most phones as I've seen policies around the £15 per month mark which people happily pay for 24 months costing them £360.
Who in their right mind would pay £360 to insure something worth £500?0 -
thanks guys, i have my bank insuaring 1 phone, but they wont insure, more so am looking at other options, which then put me in the direction, of a fiver a month. however, am now considering home insuarance cover, but now, i stay, at the my work attachment, and am wandering, can i still get home insuarance cover, even though all be moving in the next 2 weeks, cause i need to get them phones covered.0

Do yourself a favour and take out additional cover for items away from home with your home insurance. The example I gave - £1,500 away from home cover - that would cover the equivalent of three iPhones for just £20 per year.
I am not sure what you are saying exactly as your post is a bit confusing, but are you asking if they are covered at work? Yes is the answer as they are still away from your home. Also are you asking about moving soon? Just take your insurance cover with you to your new home, or cancel the old policy and take out a new policy when you've moved, add the away from home cover on the new policy.
Mobile insurance is a great way to part people from their money though, and usually totally unnecessary with home insurance being able to cover them instead.0 -
I insure my iPhone with my home insurance company as well. It works out at £25 for loss and accidental damage, the excess seems a bit steep at £100 but I am happy with the one off payment of £25, obviously it will be a sad day if anything happens to my phone and I then have to pay out £100 as well.0

Just wondered if anyone had used this website to insure their phone, particularly iPhone 4?
It seems a reasonable price, and the excess isn't too bad. It certainly seems cheaper than insuring with the network.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience with them or had heard anything.

Someone else asked this the other day.
The question I asked in return was why don't you just get the phone covered on your household insurance and include accidental cover as well? It ended up working out at about £20 more per year to get cover for £1.5k of items away from home.0 -
Sorry i've just noticed the glaringly obvious insurance thread at the top of the page!!
I was looking into having it added to my parents home & contents insurance but the excess would be around £100 whereas with this is about £25.0 -

I have my i-phone insured with Protect Your Bubble because it was easy to use and cheap in comparison to other sites. As other people have said you can add it on your home insurance but the excess is often large and means you have a claim on your house insurance which could put the policy up for the following year unnecessarily where as this insurance is not affected by previous claims. I'd say its definitely worth using Protect Your bubble!0 -
Worth checking household policy . Mine is personal possessions within the British Isles up to £2500 with an excess of £200 . Thats the sort of box i have always ticked on a new policy usually for not much extra and certainly not the £72 asked for in the OP .
Excess is some may say on the large side but i do tend to lay a certain amount of the insurance bets myself so to speak .
I have an acquaintance that was playing with new IPhone turned around and answered the land line phone and placed the IPhone in a mug of tea IPyphoo Tea Anyone .Contents insurance paid out no problem .
