herbaholic - I bought a spray called Stain Slayer from asda & used it on an old wax stain on one of my tops. I had to use it twice then wash the top, & hey presto the mark had gone ! I didn't wash the top at 30 though as I find 40 better for getting stuff clean (have 2 messy children).0

30 IS USUALLY FINE, ALTHOUGH I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH QUANTITY.
If my machine is too full, things don't get clean, but that's my own fault!

My machine doesn't have a 30 wash so I do darks and coloureds on 40, whites and towels and bedding on 60.
I only use half the recommended powder though.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
If you find your tablets don't dissolve, break them up while they are still in the packet and then put them in the drawer - seems to help with the dissolving bit.:hello:0

I wash most of my loads at 30oC with one Fairy non-bio tablet, on a quick wash. i dont have any problems with the tablet not melting.
for OH's work clothes, i'd wash with a squirt of Fairy washing up liquid, and this removes the grease/oil, still at 30oC on a quick wash0 -

I swapped to 40° always did a 60° wash before, but have found no matter what powder I use if I top has a greasy/oily stain it doesn't wash out at 40°!!! Split rose geranium oil on a lovely blue top and the 'stain' is still there. Other than uping the washing temp or using some of those 'vanish' like chemicals has anybody got a cheap and effective grease removing solution at 40° or less?
I've got a friend who always pre-treats grease stains with washing up liquid, I prefer "Shout" myself - works every time for me. Hope you haven't ironed the top and "set" the stain.....0
