..also just called into the branch and closed my old E-saver without problem0

I applied online for this account about 3 weeks ago, I am an existing nat west customer so I thought easy, after getting 3 welcome packs 2 of them wrong, I sent back the relevant details and a cheque for £1, after 2 weeks I noticed the new account was there on my account page, I started to sent in money, today I got a letter from nat west returning my cheque and saying that my application is currently being processed and they will send me a letter advising of the outcome shortly. What are they playing at.0

Nat West have finally included a clear description of the bonus period in the features and benefits tab. It should have been there from the start and they shouldn't have taken over a week to change it when it was pointed out to them, but at least it has been changed now.
For reference used to say "We will pay an extra 1.5% gross for 12 months when you open a new account in 2010". Now says as per the above link "we will pay an extra 1.85% Gross for 12 months when you open a new account. The bonus interest starts on the 15th of the month following the month in which the account is opened."
They do still describe it incorrectly here and here though as being for the first 12 months but that is less likely to mislead now the features and benefits wording has been changed.
They say from 15th after account is OPENED which I think is the date they treat the account as being opened and not the date the account is applied for so still need to watch out where it takes Nat West into a new month to open the account.I came, I saw, I melted0 -
What's so difficult about NW setting up my account? I'm already an online banking customer, they sent me out my brick of paperwork (T&Cs etc) for my super 2.89% account last week and I sent the signed form back in the pre-paid envelope to their address in Horwich, Bolton. Plenty of time I thought. Tomorrow the £24k in my Citibank account drops to 0.75%. It will take days to transfer anyway. Seems I can't give my cash away to an account that offers less than this time last year.--Savings: 26/09/14 the day I reached 100k, 24/07/20 200k, 23/08/24 300k
Completed on first house 18/07/25 £300k and mortgage-free

Nearly 2 weeks now since started trying to open this; opening cheque cashed last week. 2 letters today one saying account opened but also that I had "decided not to request online banking". Ehh????? Other letter said I had registered for online banking and they would send Activation Code in few days. Phoned to query and was told that I had opted out of online banking on the application form so couldn't have an esaver account. Spoke to supervisor who admitted there had been a mistake in the letters but that I didn't need to wait for Activation Code and could access account immediately through website. Excited to read there that I could "sign up and be online banking within minutes". Completed registration only to be told to await Activation Code!!!
Crass amateurs - give this one a miss.:mad:0 -

This follows a shambles regarding my ID (documented here). At least I have until the 15th of next month to decide whether to trust them with more than £1. :mad:0 -
LOL just to confirm I also received two letters...
(1) When you took out your new product with us, you were registered for online banking. We will send your activation code in a separate letter.
(2) You have decided not to request online banking. However if you decide at a later date... blah blah blah
Received my activation code two days later, all up and running now0
