Nicca, is there no way you can manage to fit this course in, could you not manage without the second Job? I know that things in the job market are dire and getting worse, but surely the better qualified you are the better chance of long term well paid employment. Would the earnings from the second job be lost paying back the grants.

Don't do anything hasty until you have crunched all the numbers and measured all the angles.

As usual if there's owt we can do to help?
    Regards, Handy.:D

P.S. Got Sappers son Flash the black Lab back with us again after 6 years. Will send you a photo, big softy he's lying across my feet while I write this.:A

nicca, that would be such a shame.... can you defer it for a year, maybe your financial position will be better than and you can give up (or reduce) the second job?

You haven't long been back at work, you might feel differently about everything next year when you're fully back in the routine.

Handy's right, don't do anything too hasty without considering all your options.
    take care x

Handy, can we have some photos on here as well, we need cheering up here .
    Hope you're OK x

I'm hoping there may be some way of doing the modules over a longer time-scale given I was off sick... but need the uni to tell me what the options are.

The course won't make any difference to my current pay (I work for the NHS; it's never going to ;)) but it would probably help me out in the years to come, where, inevitably the way the NHS works is going to have to change.

Even if I quit the second job, it's still be a huge ask to complete postgrad level work in the time-scale.

The professor who co-ordinates the course is lovely though (even though he must be sick of me falling to pieces at the eleventh hour ;)), so he will be straight with me and I'll have a better idea of what I need to do.

Are you still up for meeting up on the 11th Nicca? I think I'm busy on the 9th and 10th is the recovery conference but let me know and I'll pm you my phone no so we can arrange it.....say lunch somewhere nice, girly and cheap before I head back up north ?

Let me know and pray I don't buy too many books otherwise will be LADEN...:(

Mmmm! Just what I needed Erme! Chip butty. Mmmmm! Fudge dognut! Mmmm.

The 11th is a Friday, isn't it? That should be ok. I've accrued time so I can take the afternoon off (or the day, if I've enough hours :D) and come and meet you. :D Repeat after me: "I must not buy too many books, I must not buy too many books, I must not buy too many books..."

I'll put my thinking cap on and find a nice cheap place to eat near the train station (will you be heading home on the 11th? You can PM me. :))

Handy, looking forward to seeing Flash :D
