Having just crashed my car this evening, I'll re-iterate Handy's warning!

My fault - traffic lights green, moving off, heard police sirens, looked to see where they were, didn't see car in front stop, icy road... no stopping distance. :(:(:( Luckily my speed wasminiscule and we were all ok but I feel terrible. :(

    So take care out there!

Awww I'm sorry Nicca.....such a shock when that happen's!! As long as your all ok!! hug.gif

Mine should be spraying water all over himself too. I can never save them right.

We need lesson Handy, and I know just the man...

Numpty... can you tell us what to try in layman's terms? :D

Numpty is the man......I can only do it if it is the right size already!!:o

  • Hi Nicca, hope you are OK and the car isn't two badly damaged. It's still a shock to the system. I don't care what anyone says about driving in Ice and Snow (and I have done plenty) If you hit ice and your luck is out you will slide. All you can do is wait for the crunch and try to hit head on as its safer.

If what's this about Numpty being the man :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: remember size isn't everything.:D

Sorry Numpy mate couldn't resist the innuendo:D

    Cheers, Handy.

  • Night all. Handy has finished off Reds bottle of Antifreeze and is going to turn in. I will leave it up to the night owls to super glue Fred to the railings.:rotfl:

Catch you all tomorrow. Regards, Handy.:D

Morning. I'm trying to talk myself into going out into the cold and stocking up at Mr.T's, to take advantages of the clear roads while I can, but it looks cold out there!

I'm also going to get insurance, one of my neighbours was burgled last night, so if I can get a reasonable price then I'll get it.

I've done it now. I tried four places, two couldn't give me a quote (because I live in a concrete flat which throws them for some reason), one was £360  and the other was £106, so I went with that.

Ames if you're in council property the council might do home insurance on the cheap. I'm in a concrete isore and like mine is just about £4 a month for about £!5k or so...

Worth knowing perhaps for next year?

As for everyone talking about global warming - my derriere when I've had one too many plums. Has anyone read Joe !!!!!!!i? He's anti global warming and a fab read and predicted this cold snap. He's very intelligent and I love his blogs. The only time I believe in climate change is when it's econonomically prudent to do so (do I sound like a hypocrite ...nope that's rhetorical I AM A HYPROCRITE :p) cos like there's a project not far from me that gives out good freebies for these things.

Also they seem to merge Climate Change with frugaldom. Frugaldom I'm in favour of - firstly to lower my debt and then after that to give more to the poor etc. It's not good to have more than you need (I speak to self here primarily. I mean to cause no offence). Of which I am one of the worst criminals known to man :(. It's also good to be self reliant if you're like me.

    Anyhow did that make sense?????

    Off to wash up now

Nicca, sorry to hear about your accident and hope you are ok, as it can be quite a shock.

Handy! I do not provide antifreeze:eek:, only fine Reds from Reds cellar:D
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

    Good Morning All

Started at -14 today, think its up to a toasty -11 at the moment. First couple of miles driving is on iced compacted snow which was not fun, but the main roads seem to be okay. Need to go and buy more de-icer today.

    Nicca hope you are ok.

Anyway anyone else noticed some odd words being blocked today - eg apparently the word !!!!!!! is not longer acceptable as in this thread from 2005 !!!!!!! money to friends & family but which has only become a swear word today??!

EDIT the word being L ending.

Erme, I am in a council property, but the deal I found online is cheaper than the one they offer. Or rather, it's the same price (£2 a week) for more cover. Thanks for thinking of it though x

Nicca, really sorry to hear about your bump, I had one a couple of months back which left me shaken. Hope you and the car are fine x

Today I need to finish reading 'A Week In December' for my book club tonight. So far it's really good.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
