Another bump.

Yep Spoon its certainly the coldest I've ever tried to defrost the car - took ages (de-icer says it only works up to -15). I've been out to buy pre-icer today which I'm hoping will help tomorrow . Certainly won't be working later tonight.

Good afternoon folks from a very snowy NI. It's so bad here that I'm not convinced I'll make it to work tomorrow, but will certainly be giving it a go. I hope everyone is well and drives safely.

Thanks guys. Feeling less awful about it today! Even if I hadn't looked to see where the siren was coming from, I wouldn't have had the stopping distance in the ice!

Glasgow has been chaos today! It's been snowing all day, all the airports are shut, lots of roads in the North of the city have been closed, the motorways and pretty much all the city roads have been gridlocked.

I abandoned the car at work and walked home, stopping to chat to various people along the way and helping push various cars that were going no-where fast!

I quite enjoyed the community spirit and brisk walk!

Even had a laugh with random strangers at the nutter women getting out of her car to scream blue murder at the guy in the car in front. Not sure what he'd done (seen as it was gridlocked I doubt he could have sneaked up on her or cut her up!) but she was promising to "knock his ****ing lights out". Seriously, given she probably had another 5 hour drive/gridlock ahead of her, she probably should have been concentrating her enegies into something more constructive!!

I'll let you know, I haven't used it before either but saw it in wilkos. It says it works down to -25 and you just spray it on the night before and then your screen will clear with just the wipers the next morning.

Oh poor you red - not more snow. Take care and don't take risks.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll?
A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made. If you should get such a comment made on any thread you post, asking for help and advice, please realise this comment is not directed at you personally so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal because the majority of us really are a lovely bunch – ooops, modesty!

What should I do if I get a comment made on my thread?
Firstly do not respond to the comment as this is invariably what the troll wants. So to get rid of the offending post, at the bottom of the post towards the right hand side you’ll see a red "Warning" triangle within a blue “Abuse” icon, as shown below:

Click the icon and then "send" the message which will inform the abuse team of the post, who will then review its content and deal with it as appropriate; sometimes even deleting the troll by making their status PPR’d (Posting Privileges Removed). Remember, this site is an asset to so many people, especially those that feels like their world is falling in around them. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people here all willing to help, whatever you do, do not let the comments of one silly individual deter you from availing yourself of the knowledge base that is on offer here.
