Hi Everyone :hello:
Sorry I've been out of the loop for ages, hope you are all well. Have lost track of what's been going on so I'll have to have a catch up. It's difficult for me to get on at the moment as OH is still poorly and therefore tucked up in bed most of the time and as PC is in bedroom, haven't been able to do it. Docs still don't know what it is, they can't find anything wrong:o I think he is also very depressed so that might be part of the problem, sounds mean but it's getting on my nerves a bit as I'm starting to wonder if there is actually anything wrong or whether he imagines it, although the pain seems real enough.
The weather has definately turned now and I'm panicking about how close Christmas is:eek: don't quite know how I am going to do it this year as I am totally skint and don't see how that's going to change before then.
Anyway folks, catch you all later, take care.
Hugs to 3Dogs and Ames, it's very hard when it's your mum (as Mrs H knows) I hope they both get the best care that they deserve.I must stop procrastinating, I must stop procrastinating! promise I'll stop tomorrow OK:D

Hi BL.... sorry to hear about OH still being ill. It could be a multitude of things wrong with him, but real or not, its very tiring for you.:A
I wouldnt worry about Christmas if i were you, it will come and go whether you actually have money/celebrate it or not. There are loads of thing you can make, if you want to give gifts, some are not very expensive either. Personally, i really can't stand the commercialism of Christmas ( I dont really celebrate it anyway as such) and the notion that the more money you spend on people the more you care or whatever other reasons there are for people overindulging. It's complete madness.

Hi BL, Nice to hear from you again, sorry about OH. Sounds like you need to ask the medics to send him somewhere else or take a different approach. That's one thing about living in a rural area, the Hospitals are not so busy, so you tend to get seen faster and looked at more closely.
I have a feeling that it's maybe all about to change though.:mad::mad:
The Local Health Authority is already in the red and is going to get it's funding cut even more.
I will get an extra lotto ticket tomorrow, if it comes up the Handy's will contribute to your Xmas:D Apart from that I will keep my fingers crossed for you that something turns up.
Best wishes, Handy.:DMother Nature Don't Draw Straight lines, We are Broken Moulds in Life's Grand Design, We look a Mess but we're doing fine,

Thanks BL, I spoke to mum and she's had loads of progress with practical things this week, she's getting a social services assessment next week, and someone coming out to sort out the means tested benefits, which'll be a huge load off her mind.
Sorry about your OH, hopefully they can get to the bottom of things soon.
As for xmas, I think there's too much pressure to have it 'perfect', it's only one day! I always feel disappointed because it never seems worth the months of preparation and time and emotions spent on it, never mind the money!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Hi Borassic,
Sorry to hear your OH is not well and hope they get to the bottom of it soon and get him on the road to recovery. Don't worry about Christmas, as the most important thing is to enjoy it and not worry about the size/cost of gifts. I hope things get sorted for you soon and until then, keep your chin up.

Its gone very slow on here tonight. I think I will join Red in a Glass or three before I give Fred a boot back up the page. Maybe if instead of Chains we fastened his braces to the railings :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: he would self Bump.
There's a joke in that somewhere!:D

BL there's a site called https://www.thriftyfun.com that I came across a few years ago with lots of help for making home made gifts. Personally being calvinist I don't celebrate xmas (this really irks Ma who is a die har episcopalian :A) so people are just getting home made cards on the computer (noticed the works had no card blanks in but they did have card making packs so best try ebay) and like ppl abroad are getting local calendars (sent surface)...Ma is getting some bright fuschia DK wool from my stash...dear Sibling (not) - well...don't know what she is getting....maybe a few blank Starbucks cards and a thermal mug from the poundshop so she can get her Starbucks for 75p and friends I forget till last minute are getting soap scrubs made with soap (semi decent) from £land and crocheted from the stash... but they are all going under the auspices of new year gifts...
Am desperately trying to save for a wee break for new year (going to Ma's is cheaper but if I go there I'll lose 2 stone within a month of coming back ) and apart from the accomodation (YH = £15 a night) that'll be frugal..there is a drop in centre I can use there and I'll take a flask etc for coffee....and of course my water bottle
Interesting article on healthcheck on the WS just now about ST's in remote parts of africa....I just use face cloths and safety pins..surely safety pins are cheaper to make and distribute than ST's? - some people ...why does everything have to be so WESTERNIZED... I mean....if you fold them right they don't leak and they are very secure with the pins...
Anyhow just been doing my sock from Silver's sock class that a friend of FL (before I got shoved off there by some ignoramus) told me about....It's fab instructions ;j...finally I'm getting this sock right though I've yet to start on the heel
Best go now and make breakkie and have my shower...tis hair wash day....so glad I got a decent hair dryer from FC on days like today

Good morning everyone, it seems like I have a mountain of things to do today
car needs petrol, need to visit the craft shops for the 'ingredients' for my crafty Christmas gifts (good news is that I've made all the cards for this year so no need to buy them!), there's rugby to watch this afternoon, deliveries to pick up from the shops, a flat to tidy, meat to batch cook and freeze as the freezer is empty, soup to make, an (lovely) OH to get some clothes for, a friend to visit for coffee and washing to do...I'm sure there's more too
so needless to say today will not be a NSD but it will be a busy day!!
I better get my bum in gear and get on with things! Hope you all have a lovely SaturdayThose that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter0
