Phew am sweating away here..lol. And it looks like I haven't done a lot in my HHC, but here's what I have done:

    • Brought the washing in from outside - hmm some of it's not dry so will have to hang on airer :(
    • Dusted everything that can be dusted in the living room
    • Thrown away various bits in a semi binbag dance - binbag is attached to me while dusting..lol
    • Tried to get my weather station transmittor to talk to the actual weather unit - no go, even tried fresh batteries twice and they were duracell.. :(
    • Washed up pet bowls
    • Rung MIL to see how she is after yesterday's appt - she's fine :)
    • Did a paper recycle dash :)
    • Run a defrag on computer :)
Hmm looking at that it does look like a lot :)

How did you get on onestep?

Going to have my lunch then do another HHC at 2pm if anyone fancies joining me :)

Having looked at my rotary washing line listing even more to the side than usual, I took the washing back off and investigated. The metal pole was cracking and I think another day would have seen all my washing on the ground! Taking off that bit left the line too short for stuff like bedding so we've been to B&Q and got a new one. By the time that was in the ground it had started to rain so all my washing is round the house again. At least it's not all in the mud! And I'm ready for the next dry day. Whenever that may be.....

    Hello!!!

I had a quick look at the thread last night, but was too tired to post. It's been a really crazy week, with everyone working stupid hours until Thursday afternoon. Then it was a struggle to get through Friday. On top of having our 'visitors' at work I started with a cold on Tuesday night and I'm now feeling really awful. Have stuck my head over a bowl of hot water with vapo rub already (thanks, short bird) and will repeat the process later. I'm really wheezy and have no energy whatsoever. All I've done in the house all week is sorting food and running the DW. It's so frustrating, as I managed to talk to DH last weekend and I had a plan for all of us to do a little bit every day. I'm not even sure I'll manage to organise it for next week.

    Achieved today so far:
    DW run, emptied and re-loaded
    WM on
    cleared on top of TD
    breakfast x3
    lunch x1
    rubbish x2 out

    Must do's (in 15min sessions):
    HW with DS2
    kitchen worktops, hob and sink
    tea
slowly reduce Mt Washmore (will use TD, despite nice weather, 'cos it's easier)
    rest, rest and more rest

I'm hoping that if I take it really easy today, I'll start feeling better tomorrow.

Sending hugs and posi-vibes to everyone in need (including Sally).

    330g/12oz plain flour
    2tsp baking powder
    110g/4oz butter
    75g/3oz white vegetabel fat
    100g/4oz caster suger
    1 large egg, beaten
    semi-skimmed milk
    3lb cooking apples
    100g/40z light brown sugar
    1-2 tsp ground spice

    Sift flour and baking powder
    rub in fats
    stir in caster sugar
mix in the egg to form a stiff dough adding a little milk if required
chill dough for at least an hour

Use 2/3 of pastry to line a greased, loose bottomed deep 8" tin
You can bake blind at this point, I don't as you don't need to with an AGA

Peel, core and slice the apples and mix them with the brown sugar and spice. Fill the case with the apples - I go right to the top of the case.
Roll out the last 1/3 of pastry to make a lid, seal the edges and brush the top with milk.

Bake for about 40 mins (190/375/gas 5) until golden brown and cooked through.

Leave to cool in the tin for 30 minutes before removing. Serve in wedges warm or cold with cream, or greek yogurt.

I'm making Italian apple cake today (with windfall eaters - if it is nice I'll share that later)

To the garden for me for an hour now.

:T I think you need a hard won rest after the amount of stuff you have shifted this week.

I have made pizza and popcorn for the boys, instant popularity for very little effort. They are having to share a big bowl as the breakfast ones are still not washed - hint, hint.

ETA - looks lovely Dusty and anything that uses 3lbs of apples up gets my vote. I still have a large tree of cookers to use up.

I have folded 2 loads washing
hung up 2 loads of washing
filled half a binbag of rubbish
Added more to the nursery/charity shop/rags bags
Dragged mess into the middle of the backroom floor so it is visible at least
Found the third bracket for the curtain pole in the middle room so that can go back up later.. so I must wash the curtains.. and hem them..

    OH gone to tesco
DD1 taken DD2 into town so DD1 can spend her £190 and DD2 can carry the shopping.

Boys supposedly tidying the middle room but I am fededing the baby so not standing over them so that won't be getting done.

DD3 filling basket with dirty washing and changing her wet bedding
DD4 and DD5 supposedly picking up toys from downstairs.. but again as I am not standing over them it is unlikely to be getting done.

I want the whole downstairs tidied today and vacuumed.. it isn't too huge a task really.. but I need to deflea it all. I can them focus on the kitchen and set the children to degunging their pits!
