PenPen - thanks DS2 has a dell but he is easier to please

Triker - thanks MSIs sound good, good to hear a good report, their feedback had some negs which I read and that is what put me off.

I'll get DH on the case

Been looking into fence panels, sent an email and approached somebody local doing a driveway up the road. Going to have lunch and then make a phone call or two.

    Afternoon all

Horrid day so no washing done.

I've vacuumed through downstairs and we've just eaten a sausage and tomato pie for dinner. Shopping coming between 4 and 6pm. Don't think we'll be going anywhere today. DH had to go and have his eye test this morning and he got wet enough doing that.

    Hope everyone's OK.

I belong to a book group where a couple of the ladies are real Banks/ Peter Robinson fans....and one of them was so unhappy with Sunday night! BUT - she long since made up her mind that Neil Pearson would be ideal for Banks!!!

I have read some of the books....but not this one! But the Banks I know from the books doesn't seem to come across...

I wish they'd done it as a 2 hour drama - like Morse used to be!

On a different note - they're doing some of the Mark Billingham crime novels for TV too - with David Morrisey in thye lead as Tom Thorne - I've got my fingers crossed that this could be good!

sounds as if you read the same books that I do! Sadly though, the Billingham progs are being made for Sky1 which we don't have! It was part of DHs cost saving exercise getting rid of Sky.
I will still be tuning in for aftermath on Monday night though.......

    Afternoon all,

The ceiling is finished in Ds2's room. I've also finished clearing out the PC cupboard but need to have a good tidy in the dining room as i appear to have made a big mess during the sorting out. 1st coat of blue on Ds2's walls first though now the ceiling is dry and then that'll be my next job. For some crazy reason Ds2 wants to go for a walk in the rain:eek: so we may do that later.

    Triker - Flowers, how lovely!

Another improptu coffee today.... (this is becoming a bit of a habit now)..... Can't believe it's 1.40 already!

pigpen - have you tried Ebay for nursing bras? According to govenment statistics the majority of mum's give up feeding after 5 minutes most are as good as new and you pay peanuts for them. I loved the Bravado ones and they were excellent value at £2.50ish.

MSGnomey - you will have the collective power of the flyladies with you on the 8th. Hope you can get some good rest the next week.

Thinking of Lady L, Diva and Toots.

Well, I've just achieved 10 binbags of assorted rubbish from the wee spare room. And good grief, some of the stuff. A huge number of old receipts from 20 years ago, old lipsticks of a similar era, piles of old christmas cards, old socks/pants/tights. Ive a couple of boxes of "private" stuff to hand over, and a giant box of old clothing I'm going to put into bin bags and hand over as well.
That sound's good, but I have to say I'm feeling really discouraged. It seems to have made only a small dint in it, as well as which MIL is a bit huffy about me even considering clearing the room- But I jolly well have to. During the summer holiday, with a messy 22 year old back home for her Uni break, a 12 year old and a 10 year old all living in one bedroom it was utter chaos, and DD" and DS2 are both getting way beyond the stage of needing their own space (although thankfully they get on really well) Ok, off back upstairs to graze around the big bedroom and try to get some more things off the floor.
Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.
Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.

    Well done
MIL seems to be having a problem realising it's your home now - any chance she could be persuaded to co-operate in the interests of her grand-children?

I need to get DS1 a new laptop. Techies all recommened argos clearance on ebay but I'm not comfortable with that. Any of you recommend a good laptop which you have?

We got a good one from Dell Outlet but that was a year ago. As they say in the States: YMMV (your mileage may vary!)
