Hey all, not posted in ages!

Jackie, good to see you again.

    csarina hope hubby is ok

Flutterby, I internet date too. Hope it goes well but if not just remember it's a number game lovey and try not to get too excited. If you go everytime expecting to meet 'the one' then you'll be sadly disappointed but if you go expecting a morning or evening out then you'll be grand. I'm not after anything serious just FWB's and have found some nice ones online.

Need to do some cleaning and tidying today and also plan to relax and watch a movie or two and fit a bath in as well.

Have decided to buy a small freezer when I get paid to help with my OS efforts as I only have an icebox just now and it's carp. I have tried Freecycle etc and the small ads but nada so will just buy a wee one when I get paid. Going to peruse some recipe books today too and look for some new ones for winter. Love to cook but not having a decent freezer and living by myself does mean I eat the same stuff a lot and it's getting a bit boring!

Lovely and bright here so will get ready and go out soon and then get back in time for lunch. Dinner is HM Chilli and Brown Rice. Yum!

    Have good days all XXX

    Morning All,

Cold, wet and very windy here today, glad I got all the washing done yesterday. DP has finished decorating his Aunties place and is now turning his attention to ours :j so we've been having a serious declutter this week and house is looking very bare.
Have got a "roaster" chicken from mr.t for dinner today 2.5kg, guess what we'll be eating all week:D am also going to do bottom of the fridge soup and if I can find my baking mojo maybe a traybake and some Twinks.

Best Wishes, hugs and spoons to everyone and special thoughts for
    Jackie G, Nicola and Csarina.
Happy Anniversary to the Butterflybrains and Good Luck to Flutterby for the date.

Just grabbed a few mins before I get dressed for dinner. Thank you all for your good wishes.
DH brought me breakfast in bed :kisses2: we didn't buy each other anything apart from a card (Both have sloppy words) but we are going out for dinner and that is enough for us. A nice relaxing day on the cards.

my mum text me yesterday to say she has been put on tabs for depression :( i'm not surprised really she has had a hard life she is 73 now and works tirelessly for the church , fairtrade and the homeless ( she hasnt had a xmas dinner for years as she always puts on a xmas dinner for the homeless in her town :A) I have told her to take some time for herself and do what she wants to do , they are going to scotland for a week soon so hopefully that will help

on a lighter note Dnephew is having a loft conversion and so have to change all the internal doors ( dont know why) anyway he has offered them to us :T they are white panelled and only 3 years old , I am thrilled :j:j I have seen some lovely handles online for them as well

    Af'noon

DW on, Smoky beef stew in the slow cooker for dinner and potatoes peeled for mash before DH got in from his night shift so we could have snuggles on the sofa while watching the Reid/Watson MMA fight he V+'d last night. He;s just gone up to bed for a couple of hours as he has to get back to normal for me going to work tomorrow.

Its not the fuse on my washer so I'll have to ring the used furniture place in the morning see if they have a reconditioned one as the purse is a bit sore - its took a battering!

Need to pop out for fruit for pack ups this afternoon and possibly make the fish pie for tomorrows dinner while DH's out of the way (he doesnt eat it)

JackieG - hope you feel more positive soon (have you read Memorygirls make do and mend DFW diary? its quite motivational and might help pick you up a little...if not its a great way to waste a couple of days :D)
Csarina - hope OH is OK and home soon
Nicola - sorry to hear of your loss x

ok DS2 to work then went carbooting(didn't buy anything).
I've made leek and potato soup for lunch. Beef for the chaps tea and stuffed pepper for me.
WM - a bit late but was rushed this morning. Have also stripped the bed.

DS1 is on the radio again today - the station is at a local country festival and DS is out and about as a roving reporter type of thing - he's all decked out in sunshine radio clothes so looks the part!:)
He's doing a great job as a radio dj and Taplord and I are very proud of him:)

better go and do something I think. Am looking forward to a bit of Martin Shaw tonight as George Gently:o;):D plus some X factor.

have a great afternoon all x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Afternoon all

Well my date went well :) . He is a lovely guy, we had a lovely afternoon walking round the marina/beach and stopped for a coffee. There were no awkward silences and we had lots in common. But I don't think I fancy him :o.

I'm just glad I finally had the guts to go out on a date with someone new. I've been in 3 long term relationships since I was 17 (I'm 28 now) so wasn't really single til I was 26. Since then I've dated a few people but I've always known them for ages first so this was a scary step for me! :rotfl:

Souk - that's good advice, thanks!

Just had lunch of pasta with chilli tomato sauce. I've got leftover pasta to add salad too for lunch at work (boo!) tomorrow! Can't believe how quick my week off as gone!

EDIT - ((((hugs)))) csarina and nicola

    Hi everyone,

Csarina, I hope OH is able to come home soon. Nicola and JG hugs. Happy anniversay Butterfly Brain.

I've made a coffee cake -it was my MIL's recipe and i've not made it for years as the filling is a bit tricky, hopefully it's turned out ok. I need to de-bone the chicken thighs for dinner, OH hates fiddling with them when they are cooked.

I also want to try to take in several pairs of nearly new knickers. I am very cross because the weight I've lost has all seemed to have gone from my bum. I can hear you all scoffing but my hips are now down to a 12 from a 14 and the rest of me is an 18 - if it all evened out I'd be a respectable 16. It's terribly hard to get clothes to fit in this pear shaped world. Oh well hopefully the rest will catch up eventually.
