Morning all
It looks a bit overcast here today, but can't complain as it was sunny & windy yesterday & I got all my washing dry, I only have a couple of bits to iron as I try to avoid buying clothes that need it, I did enough when all the kids were at school & the ex wore a shirt to work, 25 shirts a week plus everything else.
I made Banana & bran bread, Rice pudding & Veg soup yesterday, also prep'd a huge marrow & a bag of runner beans & cooked another carrier bag of apples for the freezer.
Today I'm making chocolate brownies, tomato & chilli soup & roast pork for Sunday lunch. I must try to finish DGD's waistcoat & do some more crochet, I stopped for a while as my shoulder & elbow were so painful, but will start again this evening. I saw a link on one of the threads about home made knickers from old tea shirts, so I'm having a bash at that too.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning my lovelies
Weather seems a bit hit and miss here. Going to try and dry my towels and put another load on but we'll have to see.
Not much OS going on today as it's my mum's birthday today. She didn't want to do much apart from having me and my brother round with our respective spouses and kids so it shall be a house full. Least the kids get to play with each other, they don't see each other that often anymore
After I've finished here I need to list some stuff on Ebay as it's the last day of free listing and I didn't manage to get anything done yesterday. Stratford Upon Avon was lovely, had a nice bite to eat and then hung around the kids playground for my two to run around with my H gassing to his brothers
JackieG - Nice to see you posting. Sorry you're not feeling much different but I think taking one day at a time is probably the best xx
Flutterby - Have a good time on your date
Butterflybrain - Happy Anniversary to you and Mr BBHave a lovely meal out.
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a lovely Sunday OS or not.
PS. I've succumbed and put the heating on for a bitThe condensation on the windows yesterday morning was  Whilst I'd rather not put it on yet I don't want to risk damp in the house so all rad's are on low now.

Morning all,
Its a lovely day here, bright with a strong wind, although the sky is very black looking, I have our bedding in the wm, and will do dd's after if the rain holds off.
We popped into town yesterday, only there an hour, dd started to feel bad again, all weak and cold , so we came home and she went to bed and slept for 2 hours which is unheard of for her, that bug she had is obviously still hanging around, and really wiped her out. I think she is off out with her dad today, to watch footie, so will have to make sure she is wrapped up warm, the wind is very cold.
Dinner today will be the gammon I cooked yesterday, will slice it up into portions later, will either have mash or a jacket spud today. Will also heat up the plum and apple crumble later on, and have with ice cream :j. OH and I spent a good 1/2 hour yesterday de-stalking the crab apples, we have only done half, so will have another bash at them later, will make the jelly tomorrow.
Jackie g nice to see you posting xxxx
Csarina, hope OH is ok xx
Flutterby, :jhow exciting, have a great time xx
Happy Anniversary to the Butterflys xxxx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
i now have the lurgy OH was off work with for 2 days last week:o Feel awful, achy everywhere, sore throat and cough and no energy at all.
Good job DS was at his dads yesterday, due back at 12 today.
Have done a pile of ironing this morning to get it out the way.
Am now shattered and wish I could just lie down for the rest of the day but little chance of that with DS back;)
was going to do a roast today but can`t face it....making sausage, mash and onion gravy instead.
DS wants to go to the museum today but am hoping I can change his mind.
I am wondering if I will be well enough for work tomorrow.....have not had a day off sick for a year but you know how the NHS is for staff sickness:o
Am still looking for songs for my ceremony and first dance.....should stop looking into them too much as I have found out many love type songs I like are about drug addiction not love:eek:and it puts me off straight away.
Am thinking of having this for first dance

jackieG glad you posted and I find when my depression is playing up taking a day at a time is the best way....not too many plans, just get through the day.
Flutterby good luck with the date:D. I met OH on internet site almost 4 years ago so you can find a prince...I had a few dates with frogs first though;)
Happy anniversary to Mr and mrs Butterflybrain:)0 -
Have been MIA, Long story short. Dad died suddenly on the 8th September, he was divorced from his 2nd wife and me and my brother have been left footing the funeral bill!
Dad had cashed in his 2 life insurance policies in 2007 un be known to us all, so head is a mess but really need to reign in money now as had to use some savings for said funeral.
Hard to take in that I'll never see him again and I keep bursting into tears at silly things, but don't like the children seeing me cry so manage to compose myself.
Anyway trying to get back on board with everything so, Pork cooked this morning, veg prepared and off to take the kids to Cannock Chase for a few hours to let them run wild amongst the trees,.
Uniforms washed and line dried yesterday will iron later when the kids are in bed.
Me and OH and brother clearing dad's flat tomorrow....dreading it as it will be so final iykwim.
Happy Sunday all x xMum to 3 gorgeous kids
Hoping to have a better year this year.
RIP Dad 8/9/10 and Grandma 2/11/10 My special Angels:A:A0 -
Nicola my thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time.
Morning all
It sounds as if some of you are really feeling the cold where you live. It's not too bad here yet but I can see the heating coming on sooner than last year. I have a busy day here today, I have put a beef casserole in the slow cooker so thats dinner sorted, washing is on the line with another in the machine. I have the boys bedrooms to do - they are swapping around bedrooms and have outgrown loads of toys and clothes so I want that finished today before the new furniture gets built.
Hubby has to work for a few hours so I need to clean, organise, iron uniforms and get homework done. If I have time today I am going to make a batch of banana muffins as there are some going over in the fruit bowl, if not they will get done tomorrow.
Have a fab Sunday everyone xx£370/£300 April challenge :T:T0 -
