Saw some baubles in a shop with buttons printed on them. I thought what a great idea to freshen up tired old baubles so this weekend I shall be finding the huge jar of assorted buttons I have in the back of the cupboard and freshening up some of the boring plain baubles I have. :j
Any other ideas??:CONFUCIUS HE SAYS ......“he who will not economise will have to agonise”0 -

OMG what a brilliant idea! I would have thrown out any worn out ones but that is fab! Glue and glitter for me, like JackieGlasgow!
I might get the kids to make snowballs (white pompoms) by wrapping wool round circles cut from cardboard for our tree this year
awwwwwwwwwww its lovely having little ones around at christmas again0 -

a few days before Christmas I slice up a couple of oranges and dry on some clean cotton material on top of the radiator.Thread through with sparkly ribbon and hang on the tree.make the room smell of oranges and I saw a net bag of 8 slices in Fortnum & Masons two years ago at £8.50. per bag I doubt there was a whole orange used in there.I make most of my Christmas stuff anyway as I am keen on crafting.Last year my three youngest DGS and I spent a lovely afternoon making crackers from toilet roll holders and crepe paper and decorated them with bits of tinsel and christmassy bits from my 'toppings box' I get all the old chrismas cards from my family and spend an evening cutting of the decorations which I put in a big shoe box to be used the following year.My elders DD buys two or three baubles a year when ever they go to the U.S and has collected some lovely ones over the past few years .In Holland you can buy little carved wooden ones that look lovely on the tree and will obviously never break.I am off to Lille on the 4th December for the day and will be on the lookout for crafting stuff there at the market.0

print out pictures of your little ones in the snow/christmas day etc cut them out and stick them on the baubles. A lovely reminder of your little ones that come out year after year. PVA glue over the top will give it a clear hard coating.0

Great picture, certainly different to the normal baubles. Have been for my PVA glue today, who cares if the forecast is rain all day, I know what I will be doing tomorrow.:)CONFUCIUS HE SAYS ......“he who will not economise will have to agonise”0

Drat, a moneysaving thread I can't "subscribe" to.
Sadly, when it comes to my Christmas tree, I'm rather anal.Everything has to be co-ordinated, not only only on the tree, but also with the living room. *Double
*
My tree decorations have to be black, red, and silver (the silver breaks up the [obvious] colours of my 2 sofas, hence making it less anal lol), each in a row but no two rows the same - are you still with me? :rotfl:
I blame my Mum, she's notorious when it comes to her tree, she changes the decorations about, as there's always one that annoys her, for the whole fortnight the tree's up - drives my Dad mental.
Pity she wasn't that fussy when it comes to the 'cut out bit of an egg box, covered in tinfoil, bell' and the 'polystyrene square with Christmas stickers, aka cut from old Cristmas cards, on each side' decorations she insists of having pride of place each year.
Both decorations were made by my brother and I, at nursery, and she loves to point them out to visitors when they comment on how lovely her tree is decorated.
Wouldn't mind so much, but I'm 34 and my brother's 38 now, we're a bit long in the tooth to be congratulated on our "talents". :rotfl:0 -
As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread on decorations for the Festive Season.
You could also hed ove the the Christmas Board for more inspiration:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
