If the conservatives didn't see ed miliband as a potential threat they would not be so desperate to paint the labour leader as being far left(which he isn't)
I think as time goes on he will make a formidable opponent against cameron.0 -

Have the current government actually labelled him?
I haven't seen any of this yet, only the news reporters stating this.0 -
Funny you should say that, in Tesco a jar of Decaf 200g was £5.13, a jar of same make 100g was £2.20. Question, do they do that on purpose and is there is some clever marketing technique at work ? or is it a !!!!-up?

It's hardly clever of tesco's to notice that people can't add up, and probably don't even look at the price of what they are buying.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Yay! The Labour party just voted themselved out of power for the next electoral term. Have to be careful though, David could be their second choice when they ditch Ed... and the force is strong in that one.0

Rantings of a labourite0 -
Ed Miliband seems to be member of the creed that government is the answer to everything. Why else would he support crazy ideas like this:In a speech in Leeds on the first day of campaigning since nominations for Labour leadership candidates closed, Miliband said he wanted a high pay commission established to look into whether salary differentials between the worst-paid and the best-paid inside private companies are too high.

Presumably the commission would lay down guidelines how private companies are allowed to compensate their employees. But bigger overheads on compliance related activities is not really what the private sector needs right now, or ever.0 -

Asda is even better, 200g for £5 and two 100g £3
it must be silly season on the Nescafe Decaf. 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. TAX
Wants to increase tax on the rich, keep 50 per cent top rate permanently and impose a new £5 billion a year tax on banks.
ECONOMY
Backs a "responsible" opposition to coalition cuts, and wants more emphasis on tax rises. Backs creation of a "living wage" of £7.60 an hour, as a minimum. Wants government to actively encourage growth industries.
FOREIGN/DEFENCE
Says UK should not automatically follow the US path on global affairs, and that Labour should no longer defend Iraq war decision. Believes Afghanistan "cannot be a war without end" and that negotiations must begin with the Taleban in Afghanistan.
ENVIRONMENT
Wants international binding climate emissions cuts and a Green investment bank.
LAW and ORDER
Backs plans to replace jail with community sentences
FACT - Truly in thrall to international Marxism.
Perhaps he will join Ken Clarke in the Marxist Brotherhood with that approach to law and order, or will it be the Lib-Dems who only a few months ago warned of the risk of the scale of proposed Tory cuts.
As for negotiating with the Taleban, it will happen regardless of who is in power. A bit like John Major telling parliament that it would turn his stomach to negotiate with the IRA - while you guessed it, negotiating with the IRA.
As for the Environment - the coalition has already said they will set up a Green Investment Bank (this was a Tory policy well before the election).
If this is Marxism, I'm a banana.0 -

He could almost be accused of stealing Lib-Dem policies as this is what Vince Cable was proposing but rejected by the last Labour government.

It is however an easy policy for any opposition to adopt as it is very popular with the public.
It is a mad idea though.0
