Not quite sure what I'll use them for mind, as searches turn up load of curries - and I don't "do" curry (even the smell makes me gag) :o

Do you like Chorizo and Couscous? I often make http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3097/couscous-with-chorizo-and-chickpeas with chickpeas and it's very quick and very nice IMO. (Sorry - I don't know how to change the specific link to just say 'THIS') :o

Simple answer to this is 'no idea' ;) Only ever had Couscous once, and it was a disaster - no-one in the family ate it, but that was about 8 years ago and I now eat a lot I didn't then :)

Thanks :) May have a try at this, if I can get a small amount of Chorizo from somewhere (guessing a deli counter somewhere?)

I do especially as we are blessed with a wonderful greengrocers and bakery, the quality is so much better but in my case it tends to be lack of routine! I'm sure I could manage to stay on target if I went in with a couple of pound in my purse and no more - the only problem there though is the lack of prices on display. At the end of the day we have to do what works best to safeguard our own families futures before we look outside.

This is the problem I find with local shops, I will not buy anything I don't know the price of (not even a lone vegetable) and don't like having to constantly ask 'how much is this'. If I ever had a shop I would be meticulous about clear pricing!

Spent £2.33 at Mr T's last night on ham, reduced bread (:( wish my 'freezer' was bigger than 12"x6"!!!), OJ and veg bits for Thursday's HM pizza, sig updated.

Hi all! I've usually spent much more by this time in the month and have lots of mince & fish in, so I splashed out a bit in Lidl today on some offers and nice veg.
£7.03 on butternut squash, red peppers, leeks, carrots, sweet potato, 3xtuna, oats, tinned toms, mozzarella & peanut bar! I'm looking forward to some tasty roast veg & soups!

£1.25 on skimmed milk today, NSDs Monday and Tuesday and nothing needed at the weekend except fruit for next week. Why do I blow so much of the budget early on in the month then scrimp and save and use stuff out of the bulging freezers for the rest of the month?:o
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

Does anyone know of any offers on nonbio washing powder/liquid ATM?

Just fine tuning my list for the weekly shop on Friday, I've got £25 to do it as my Oct ends on the 22nd! Should be ok! ( Will have to be!);)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
  • Went to MrT for milk and rolls and succumbed to a packet of mini-bites (but only because they were on special offer)

    So spent £3.16
