To be honest, I'm not sure why supermarket names are not written in full, I think it's something to do with advertising, but I could be totally wrong, and probably am :rotfl:

I think that's about right. I used to work for an internet company and we used G**gle Analytics to get our exposure out, and we used keywords alongside our company name so our company came higher up, when you search for a specific product. For instance, if all of you started to post 'T*sco' (in full) along with 'Green beans', then Mr T will get higher up when you search for 'Green beans'. Companies pay a LOT of money and spend a lot of time to get their brand higher up in the search engines instead of using the paid banner ads. I don't think it's against the rules of the website, but personally I prefer to just write Mr T, because I don't fancy giving them free advertising :D

Anyway - my first spends of the month: £9.99 in Mr S (including some unneccessay but irresistble Pringl*s at BOGOF!!!), and £3.39 in Mr T. Total spend = £13.38 which I'm satisfied with :D

Yet another spend, and we're less than 24 hours into the new GC! We've just spent £25.24 at Li£l, including our £5 Daily $tar voucher. It's one of the first times I've shopped there for groceries and it wasn't as cheap compared to Mr T etc. as I thought it would be.
Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!
  • total failure last month. :(

£160 again please - I will stick to it this month - positive thinking! :j

Hiya everyone! Hope you're all well. First spend of the month for me on the week's shop, came to a total of £13.97. This pleases me so far as I calculated my weekly spends to be less than £18 per week for me to keep to my target. I decided it might help to figure out that amount as although I run my challenge monthly (to go with my pay), I shop weekly-ish because this suits me best. I'm allowed to borrow from one week's portion of budget against another week's, I just thought working it out might help me have more of a guideline for the shop rather than spending all my budget in the first couple of weeks.

It'll probably still all go horribly wrong somehow:rotfl:
  • Well, the first of the month and my first spend......

£40.53 at L$dl on basically nothing! Bread, bit of chicken, a few veg, thats it really.

I really don't know how I'm gonna manage this challenge - I really want to do well but it's just so daunting!!

  • Spent £60 on the weekly shop at Mr S and am a bit disappointed tbh. I think that is almost as low as we personally can go. Ok, so I could cut more off by cooking every single thing from scratch and baking treats etc but me and OH both work long hours and quite frankly I can't be bothered lol.

£60 a week is so much better than we were doing before we started this challenge, so I might just be happy with my level and be thankful for how much money we've saved just by getting to where we're at now!
