I made it, phew!! Went out with £21.70 left in the budget, and spent £18.22, so declaring at £131.52. Was really pleased with myself as I stuck to my list, and then added 2 items that were not on the list only when I knew I still had enough in the budget, which only added £2 to the total.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

My target for October was £50 I spent £48.71 , so £1.29 to the good!
Being part of the challenge really does help - wish I could do as well on other spending - in the last 3 months I've needed a new fence, new winter curtains AND a new fridge, so have been over target every time - worries me a bit. (But at least I have no debts.)
I'll post November's target on the new thread.Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
I am declaring final October spends as £166.84 (from a target of £100 - oops!). Definately going to try a yearly challenge next year, as we bulk buy a lot of our meat, and order from AF a lot, which means our totals fluctuate wildly.
See you all in November - I don't post here a lot but read the GC nearly every day to keep me inspired!xx
Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
Oooop bit late but i am declaring a total of £125.59 for October. Not happy that I didnt come in on target BUT it wasnt too far over and I hadnt accounted for the extra birthday bits I needed for DS. I think I have already asked to be put down for the same again for Nov but already feel that this may be slightly ambitious as I have 2 birthday parties that I hadnt known about (DS not myself) and a unexpected shopping trip with my mum in a fortnight.................... Oh well i shall tryEmma
Aug GC - £88.17/£130
NSD - target 18 days, so far 5!!0 -
Declaring at €698 (from a target of €300 - double oops!). But at least, based on splitting my annual target into 52, I have about €30 spare for this week of the year (I am just glad I have stayed ANYWHERE near that overall annual target, as it was somewhat a shot in the dark).
I went to Dunnes at the weekend, and had to spend €93 to get a voucher for December, but there were also a lot of bargains on non-perishables that I use anyway, and I picked up some extra Christmas sweets and biscuits (for the office, that I would normally get anyway, but much reduced) as well. I ended up spending €188, but that included quite a lot of meat (including a large beef roasting joint, lamb shanks, rashers and pudding) and a very large trolley of things.
This month, I have revised my target downwards to €450, which will still leave me with €509 for December, and I think we are going to family for Christmas itself (so no turkey needed unless I see seriously good value for the freezer!).
This week, we had the roast on Saturday (as Hallowe'en last night was trickier) and used leftovers for a curry last night and sambos for today's lunches.
Tonight: Bacon pieces, jar of tomato sauce and pasta (maybe some extra veggies)
Tues: Lamb shanks, slow roasted
Wed: Fish pie (using fish in freezer)
Thurs: Possibly a prawn-type Chinese stir-fry
Fri: Takeaway (builders start today and we'll deserve it by then!)GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
GC 2011:Overall Target: €6,000/ €5,442 by October
