Thanks for your post de1amo, and I'm sorry to hear you're a sufferer, although very pleased to hear you are able to manage it
My daughters actual illness is called Borderline Personality Disorder, and is accompanied by depression, but as no-one has ever heard of it, it's easier to say it's similar to Bi-Polar.
It's very complex, and little known and researched, which makes treating it very difficult. She's been trying different meds for the last 2 years - which have been two of the worst years of my life, and hers - and is currently on a cocktail of 9 tablets a day, which are the most successful so far (although far from being perfect) but it has, and continues to be, a long, hard, road - as I'm sure you know. My ex husband (her Father) has suffered from severe depression since his teens, as does one of his sisters, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
Oh dear.....bordering on doom and gloom there......sorry about that
Thanks for your supportive post

mental health and money are very entwind--caring for someone with special dietry needs through illness is as relevant and my eating repetıtive junk food for 3 years!--i do miss my spag bol --made of course with a shop bought sauce--when you have depression choosing and cooking food becomes a living nightmare--you plump for what you know best and have no thought of the long term health affect--ie weight gain!--its a viscious circle also not helped by side afects of drugs which elevates distates for some food stuffs!
i am in perfect health now and remarried from my illness days--i have travelled widely and settled abroad with my lovely wife of 4 years and her daughter--my daughter!--the spectrum of illness can pass for her and you as her carer--just be positive!
i know of borderline personality disorder--it can be 'attacked' on 2 fronts --initially by drugs and then with 'speaking therapy--last april i did an online cbt course someone 'gave to me here--it helped me get on a much more positive path--i dont know if you might consider it--i was floundering with malaise at the time!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
Went to A**i yesterday (afternoon out on the bus!), and spent £15.07 on two heavy bags of shopping to top up my cupboards a bit.
Still just within my £50 budget - can't be bad.Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
Good morning all,
Well, I have decided that as my pay is in the bank today yesterday was the end of October for me and November starts today. So, declaring October at £225.30, which is £14.70 under budget. :j:j:j
Still a disappointing total of NSD at only 16 for the month but hey ho better than none. I must though try better on those in November.
Well done to all those coming in at, under or close to budget, some fantastic results again this month. :T:T:T
And well done to those who tried hard and kept their spending down irrespective of what your total was. Imagine what you'd have spent otherwise and then give yourself a huge pat on the back for your achievement too. :T:T:T
Ok, I'm off over to the November thread but will pop back to read any other posters. Good luck to those stilll to finish, keep strong for these final days.
See you over in November,

I noticed that Mr T have a 3.5l one in the sale at £10 atm - this would be big enough as I also feed five (adults - 3 with men size appetites) . She's currently having a year long course of DBT which is to be followed by CBT, but thank you for the suggestion
Right then - I've just done the first of Novembers online shops, which will be delivered on Sunday, so that is when I will start my November challenge, so it will come out of Novembers budget.
Still on October - I'm not intending to go out today, so the money in my purse is safe, although I feel sure milk and bread will be needed sometime tomorrow, but we'll see.
So still on £264.12 with £10.88 budget remaining. I hate the last few days of a challenge, they seem to last forever....
Well done Winchelsea, under £50 a month is very impressive indeed :T and to you too Spigs for coming in well under budget :TAug11 £193.29/£240

I think I will come in on budget this month for my first go and I'm feeling very pleased with myself. I have £8+ in my GC purse, and don't need to buy anything before Sunday.
I have Eid next month so am going to increase my budget to £350 (from £240). Hopefully that will do me rightly.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Right finally caught up with October's thread, still have November's to go though! I have almost been having withdrawal symtoms the last few days as real life got in the way and prevented me from posting!
Mrs M, could I please declare at an appalling £611.28 against my £450 target and can I try again for £450 please for November.
I really need to get a new slow cooker - mine has a big crack in the bottom of it.

Arrh, that's why I keep exceeding my budget so badly! You & I knithappens have clearly been misunderstanding the aim of this challenge!
