Well I was doing well. Just nipped my mum to MrS and although I didn't want anything other than a loaf of bread I did spend a bit more. Well mum paid as I took her but it still counts. Splashed out on sugar snap peas (one of my nibbles), bread, mayo, firelighters and some sweets for tomorrow as going to be with my GodD's. All in I am estimating it came to about £6.50 ish.
Bang goes the budget. Still very well stocked for tins and cat litter after bulk buying this month.

I too struggle with depression, I know its not as serious as BPD or Bi-Polar but I notice it really does make a difference to what I buy/eat on a bad day. I tend to binge when low and be super healthy and cook when happy. My meds also make me very very sleepy so things are not too good right now. Hey, Ho could be worse I guess. Tried to do CBT once and it drove me nuts I ended up so frustrated with it I couldn't continue, tho that was many many moons ago...

    Off to do sig,.

    xx to all xx

Sorry to hear that Shysarah :grouphug: - all mental illnesses are serious because of how debilitating and all consuming they are. Just because it has a simple name doesn't mean it's any less serious. My daughter has been attending DBT for 6 months now, and is seriously struggling with it. I think it would be easier for those in therapy if simpler words were used for a start, so that you don't need a degree in psychology to decipher what all the weird and wonderful words are. But as with CBT, it's known for being extremely difficult because you're trying to rewire your mind from a lifetime of how you would normally think and respond to events and emotions.....I've not written that very well, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Hang in there - as with de1amo, my ex husband has learnt how to live with his depression, and pretty much has control of it, without medication, so there is hope :)

I just wish there was a higher success rate with BPD - still, we have to keep trying, as the alternative isn't acceptable.

Okay - FINALLY got caught up with posts! I wanted to read through what everyone has written before posting myself. I also need to start posting on the StoreCupboard Challenge - there just seems to have been so much going on at the moment!

First I'll start with the positives

I've only spent £4.20 in Mr S for shopping this week!. On Monday I went to a restaurant to be a 'mystery taster' for a restaurant that we're going to choose for a paid for Christmas lunch (we usually have a paid for Xmas party, but with the recession it's just a lunch now). It was LOVELY - I had Calamari for starters, Steak with chips, mixed salad and bearnaise sauce for main, and creme brulee for dessert. The 3 others in my party chose things different, but it's definately our Xmas party choice!!!

    Now the negatives

On Sunday I spent £9.50 on lunch on the pub - worth it though!

Today I spent nothing, because I needed to go to a promotional party for our company after work (I get the next morning off in lieu).

Anyway - I got to work, and I was going to have my breakfast as usual, when my new boss told me that I wasn't allowed to eat today because I needed to make a good impression on our clients!!! She said that I had 'let myself go'...in public!

Okay - I'm 5 ft 12 and weigh 11 stone, but I have a limited amount of fat mass. But she is comparing me 5 years ago when I weighed 8.5 stone (i.e. - looking very ill!). I had to go do promotions tonight, without food, but I had to drink lots of alcohol! Not a sensible idea....
I got home tonight and had bowl of rice with soy sauce. Yum! (Ahem!)

I LOVE my stews, but if my job is at risk, I had better revise my menu to fit the 'weight loss' plan. It will cost me less, but....anyway....
Personally I don't think that men are supposed to look 'too' skinny anyway!

I'm going to give it one more try next month - I know that it's a 'learning curve', but I'm overbudget..... I really don't like 'losing', and it's starting to become very disheartening for me! :(

I believe that your boss is bullying you :(. If i were you i would inform her that you found her remark offensive and entirely unecessary. If this isn't nipped in the bud, she may be of the opinion that because you have failed to confront her/challenge her, that she can continue to make digs at you.

FWIW i don't know any women that fancy skinny men and in MESHO there are plenty of us who prefer a more generously proportioned man :)

We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

Thanks everyone for the support. The top manager (the one who owns the company) has let me move off the promotional stuff. He did laugh it off when I told him what happened, and said she was just joking. I knew nothing would happen because she does bring a lot of money to the company. As it turns out a new girl has joined and she really wants to do it (quite a few people like it because they see it as an excuse to drink for free on works money - I would prefer to do that with my friends when I know I can enjoy myself!).

When a lot of people were laid off a month or so ago, the remaining staff ended up with too much to cope with so there is still a lot of work to do. Instead I'm going to be assisting the finance department with basic payroll, before they approve, instead of working for the old manager. SUCH a relief! I'm not a 'homebody' as such, but I'm not someone who enjoys socializing 24/7 :j

Anyway - updating my final spends now - £5.30 at Mr S. So for October I'm declaring £124.58

I know EXACTLY what took me over my £100 target - a £10 meal out for someones leaving lunch one day, £10 for Sunday lunch last weekend, and £5 on fish and chips a few weeks ago. If it wasn't for this I would have come in at £99.58

I was half tempted to cheat and declare the lower figure, but cheating on here would be cheating myself. I'm still pretty pleased with my overall total though :D

I'll start reading Novembers thread, and posting there from Monday onwards
