Once again I have a twin, me and DC used to post identical posts at the same time :rotfl:

Me and you girl, on the wagon tonight, text me like mad if you need to cos I'll be clogging your inbox up :rotfl:

I'll be taking you up on that! Its got to be done Jo, my husband is miserable and its all my fault :(

I was laying in bed this morning trying to do that visualisation exercise that 365 mentioned. Tried imagining life without my microwave....and immediately felt really scared!:rotfl:Seriously though, good exercise to do. You realise that, other than family, you could live without things if they suddenly disappeared. On some level surely alcohol is the same??

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Right.

I am in a hole, i don't like what i see in the mirror, i don't like the person I have become.

I'm not a bad person but I keep messing up.

When I stopped housedrinking not all that long ago I felt ten times better about everything.

I'm not saying I will never drink in the flat again, but I am hereby avoiding shorts and more specifically vodka.

    And that's it for now

For me, the mad thing was doing the same things and expecting different results. At the end of my drinking it always ended with me in blackout, !!!!ed with no idea if I had been to work, commited a crime ect. But would still wake up and reach for a drink.

If I was to drink today the outcome would not change. I am an alcoholic who can not drink on a daily basis and I only changed when I accepted that. Alcohol can not be part of my life, either today, tomorrow or next year.

Past experience has shown me that I can not drink alcohol succuessfully and do you know what all I have to do is go without one small drink today and I avoid all the pain, don't hurt people I love, I look better, feel better, sleep well, turn up for work and most importantly turn up for life, I am not sat there craving my next drink and living in that pittance that was my life a year ago.

For people struggiling, I could not go an hour without a drink or knowing where my next drink was coming from, if I can give up alcohol for over 8 months anyone can and I mean that!!!

    Much sober love

Now you had to remind me about the oven. I must get mine done before I move

Sim - congratulations and well done. Do you have a plan how to prioritise using the extra money you are getting? Perhaps jotting down a little payment plan towards your different obligations.

SSG - Would you consider having chat with your GP about your situations? If not at least have a look at THIS
"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Glad you found it useful.Alcohol (or any other behaviour/drug) is the same. You have to grieve it when it's gone. You will somtimes forget it has gone. You will have to find other ways to do what you did with the booze (microwave) It will be scary to realise that it is gone. There will be times when you want it back. You will eventually fill the hole it has left. But at the end of the day you will cope without it.;)

Maman - I think eating out is the only thing thats hard on SW. Thats why I'm not worrying about what I eat too much tonight. Will prob go for steak, jacket potato and salad. Other than that I find the plan quite easy to stick to. I'm doing green days as I love pasta, rice and potatos!

I'm hoping Extra Easy will also allow rice and potatoes????? Need to read, mark and learn as I'm a total newbie.

Have a lovelytime tonight. I'll probably be peeling the skin off chicken drumsticks at lunch:D

Enjoyyour weekend all, whatever you're doing:A

Well, Jo is not happy

Gas man came to do a gas safety check (annual legal requirement for council tenants) and the flue is blocked on my gas fire and smoke came back into the living room so he's stuck a great big bit of yellow tape saying DO NOT USE - DANGER (it's more like a crime scene ) across it.....not very attractive! They have to come back in the week to sweep the chimney, which means taking a day of my holidays :(

HE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE F.ECKING OVEN!!!!!

    And breathe.......

Here is a post from back on thread 1 or 2 (can't remember, but a long time ago), a post which means a lot to us on here....from Springwatch Girl. Don't know where SWG is as she hasn't posted since back then, but I am hoping that the sun is still shining in her life :)

"Well, week 5 of no alcohol and I see a different person in the mirror. My eyes no longer look dull and vacant, they actually have a little sparkle and my skin doesn't look like uncooked pastry anymore. I feel that I have won a battle but not yet the war. Hope everyone else is at the point they want to be, I never want to be that person I was, I have been tempted but I just think back to what I had become. The sun is shining at the moment and I feel good and want to continue to have the sun in my life"

I have included the above bit in the 1st post of the thread, this is what MP quoted last night. It is my fav all time post and actually gives me goosebumps everytime I read it. I hope if you're reading this SWG you know how much impact this message has had and please please let us know how you are :)

If any of you at any point start a new thread, would you please include it. Ta :)

Right, off to plan dindins....I'm thinking that that huge bag of frozen raw king prawns I have in the freezer might have to be used as OH is out and I'm home alone ;) Pad Thai?
