  • Having been feeling great this morning, I'm not in a good place now. What is it with some men and a social event? I remember my dad being exactly the same.

We've been invited to a family party tonight. My family, but would have thought that was fine. Kids coming too so home early. But I swear DH has had a face on him that would sour grapes all morning because he doesn't want to come  I said that was fine and I would take the kids on my own. I did bring up that he's being just like his mother being rude and ignoring polite invitations. So now he's off out in a huff!

I've been trying really hard with him this week because I know he's had a bit of a boring week, kids on half term, weathers been bad and I've been working. But really? This is how he treats me? I'm peed off to say the least. But thinking that there is some under lying issue that I'm just not picking up on.
    Need to start again :o

Oh my god FH, you've just described my Dad and my Grandad (long departed) to a T! My Dad absolutely detests social occasions and will have a face as long as a wet weekend all day. And my Grandad was worse...when they HAD to go to a social do, he wouldn't talk to my Nan for a week beforehand! :eek:No wonder she says her life started when he died:rotfl:

I'd just ignore him and go to the party. He can come with you or stay at home and fester.

  • I am definitely going. It would be so rude not to. You would think I was asking him to spend a whole week in a confined room with my family. It'll only be 2 hours :rotfl:

He has had a face on all week. OMG!! Maybe about tonight! Surely not :rotfl:

Now DS2 is crying because he has a sore nose! Honestly, I'm having such a great day. Now I've just heard from upstairs "mum, come and wipe my bum" The joys :rotfl:

All these laughing heads and it's the last thing I want to do right now!
    Need to start again :o

OMG what are we all like. Lurkers might think that the alcohol is the least of our worries :rotfl:with everything else that is going on.

Dodgy tummy all day. Did manage breakfast but only now consuming first cup of tea since then and still don't feel like eating. Really shame as they had nice looking cakes at the Saturday school and I just couldn't even think of eating any.

I don't know if this continuing stress reaction from yesterday or a start of the side effect from the meds. DD is wanting to go out but I don't dare to go far away from the loo :o

I had a lie down for couple of hours while DD was watching telly, going through her log book from pre school and building a treasure chest from old egg container. She can be a good girl.

Mais bien sûr, c'est mon nom! (Practising for next week:D)

Hope you enjoyed your coffee and cake (or should that be gateau?;)).
  • Morning all!

Maman - You know...I only realised that after I'd posted :rotfl:(I'm not really with it this week!:rotfl:)

Foreverhopeful - hope the party went well, that OH came round to going and was cheerful. And that DS2 is feeling better?

Marru - Am pleased DD is being good for you. She probably picked up on your stressed mood the other day (children seem to have an un-erring knack of being able to do this, don't they?) and your stomach probably IS stress. Hope you are feeling a bit better today?

I had a nice afternoon yesterday with my friend. M&S was mental, people queing out the cafe door, so we ended up in Starbucks having giant cups of hot chocolate:D (I did resist the cakes though!:))

We spoke to Stepson last night and played him the message his Mum left on our phone. I think he was quite shocked. He's a very level-headed boy and I think he took on board what we were saying. Out of the blue at one point he did say he didn't think his Mum was a very good role model for his sister. Whilst we all know thats true, its very sad to hear someone say that about thier Mum.

Anyway, upshot is, we said to both of them that this is a fresh start now. That I would be taking more of a back seat due to thier mothers interference, but that we just want to get on with our lives and have fun as a family. Up to them now.

Again, sorry for waffling!!:rotfl:Better get my bum in gear. Off to Milton Keynes today. Mum booked some hours at Xscape for stepson as a christmas present. At the time we booked a premier inn for the night and luckily put the money by for it, else we couldn't have been going!(Piglet would have been devastaed - he's already packed his suitcase!:D) So you won't see me till tomorrow now. Have good sundays all!!!
