Welcome kinkyjinks. I am sure others will be here soon giving their support and advice.

My experience is that stock the house with lovely AF drinks. Something that is a bit luxury to you and you can feel it is a treat for you. My favourites was ginger ale, shloer, ginger and lemon grass or elderflower cordials with sparkling water. Also you might want to stock up with sugary things as alcohol has loads of sugar and you might want to get it from other source. Now is not time to think about diet, the sugar cravings will ease off. My favourite was Th0rnt0n's caramel shortbread. Sheer luxury so ticked all the boxes for me. Find yours.

And what ever you do keep hydrated and keep posting here. We all have different stories some have drank more than others and some find cutting down or stopping more difficult than others but we all have come to conculsion that the relationship we have with alcohol is not a healthy one and came here for support to do something about it. There are no failures as many have said, one AF day is better than none.

    Excellent post Marru :T

Bottle of cherryade in the fridge for me tonight :)

OH gone down with man-flu (a cold!) and spent most of afternoon in bed. Appeared long enough to eat tea and went back to bed at 6.30. He's not often ill though, so I'll let him stay there ;)

Piglet off to bed shortly and then its a quiet night for me I think!!:rotfl: Knitting, cherryade, and a film on the tele. Does it get better than that???:rotfl:

Thanks for that Marru. I don't really drink fizzy pop and was struggling this morning to work out what to get. Funnily enough I bought myself a bottle of elderflower cordial as a special treat.

That also explains why I mysteriously developed a sweet tooth last night. I couldn't understand why I had a sudden desire to bake a chocolate cake, cookies, custard, anything sweet really. The extra calories shouldn't matter too much short term, I'm pretty sure I drank a good few calories.

I'm going to have a read through the some more of this thread, while I sip my elderflower cordial mixed with soda water :D
