I'm back after an absence of months. Had 3 days alcohol free. The OH has one of her best friends coming over today though, and friend is bringing boyfriend (who I don't like, and will bring a case of beer intending to watch Stevenage v Newcastle with me). I'll get out of it somehow!
Do you want to join the January challenge? What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Hi everyone,
Well went back to work and promptly feel off the wagon so won't achieve my target:o

Do you want to join the January challenge?
What is it? Where is it? I've already had a lot of drink in January, but nothing since 4th.
Edit: I've just seen it. Well I know I drank on 1st, pretty sure I did on 2nd. Nothing on 3rd, but drunk on 4th. So I'm 4/7 days AF so far. Cheers. A good target would be 21 days AF for me.
I don't want to think about a month at the moment. Today is challenging enough for now!Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?0 -
Good afternoon all
Jumping on pooter at Mums house as internet seems to have gone kaput at oursWill hopefully have a look at it later and try and get it up and running.

Sparkles (FUAS) - excellent post!:T
Well done everyone who stayed AF last night. Friday nights are / were a drinking night for me. Wasn't too bad last night - kept myself engrossed in knitting and reading. Feeling bells tinkling a bit today but have plans for tonight (making christmas tags for next year out of last years cards....and knitting of course!:rotfl:) so hopefully will keep those bells at bay.
Good luck all of you who want to stay AF tonight

Hi everyone,
funny but Friday nights were always my downfall. I would say just a bottle of wine on a Friday night as I dont have to get up early on Saturday, then it would extend to Saturday night too and I would try to avoid weekdays. But then I would fancy a drink during the week "what harm would one bottle of wine do ?" and before I knew it I would be drinking at least a bottle of wine a night.
No matter how much I tried, I just wasnt successful at just cutting down and just knew I had to stop altogether.
Good luck everybody, we are all in the same boat here.
7 FOR ME THANKS SHAGGY0 -
:hello:Hi everyone hope you all well
Due to the 4 inches of snow that fell here last night i couldnt go to Zumba this morning at 9am which is such a shame as i was up and ready to go..Not!
Had friends round last night, knew i wasnt going to be an AF Fri for me but i make a couple of small changes to my usual drinking pattern. I waited til they arrived, 8pm, before i had a drink (me of old would have had at least a couple of cheeky wee drinks b4hand) and although between us we drank 2 bottles of fizz i was expecting it to be more. We had a baileys to finish with, i would have poured myself about half a pints worth but made it a small measure. No sore head this morning which is great.:j
Welcome insprespirit. Like DaisyChain, im also a newbie here on this forum, i love it. Talking of Daisychain, well done on staying AF last night and to everyone else. Im aiming to make it an AF Sat for this first time in years. I was thinking about what was said in an earlier post about the weekend drinking, and i think for me its less about it being a Fri or Sat night, its more because im off work every weekend and start to plan my day around when is the earliest time i can have a drink during the day. Trying to convince myself that because its not wine i drink before 5pm (maybe a can of cider) then thats ok. Its strange the things we try and convince ourselves of to allow ourselves to have a drink. Gosh i aint half rambling on today!
I suspect my bells will starting tolling around 4pm. As im pretty much housebound today due to the weather ive done all my usual chores. Made loadsa WW soup, so much so that the freezer is bulging with the stuff, i could sell it!
Hope everyone having a good day/weekend
Bye for nowIt’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts0 -

Had Wednesday as a non-AF day as was my last night with my Ma, and Thursday was the first night back oop north so went out with Mr L, and la tasca had 1/2 price sangria. Only had 2 (smallish) glasses of wine on Wednesday and 1 of sangria on Thursday though, so didn't fall too far from the wagon...
Still feeling dreadful though, 'orrible lurgy that's going about, so it's not taking too much restraint to not drink at the moment! Lemsip is more the order of the day!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Just a quickie from me

I can't stay long as I am being very productive today, hey if its not stuck down its either getting: washed, polished, hoovered or binned
I have my "Its getting done head on" It really is amazing how much more we get done when af.
I shall move onto the meal planning next
I feel all oldstyle today, which is a good thing................
Oh and I have taken delivery of a very, very bright multi coloured poncho, I am not sure about it but I want to release my inner spirit. So its staying, My Ds though will not approve
I ordered 2 dresses too, but my goodness they are like sacksThey shall be returned on Monday.
Btw all this mse is very good, but I feel I may be taking it too far................ I mean is it really worth getting so upset when 85p or so does not track on Quidco
But Budgie is feeling happy today, no suprise really because I ordered my friend an I a better year this year
Good news is Mr Budgie has a part time job which he started 2 weeks ago, we are still living apart, but I am fine with that and its nice having my own space at the moment.
So I am determined not to stress out over things and I am opening myself upto the universe and all the good things that it will be sending my way.
Big hugs everyone and take care.
Btw Dear Lurky thankyou for the message I have sent a small reply;) Sparkles brilliant post sweetheart :T 365 if you are about? Hope all is well with you?
