  • well- back from body combat and curled up with a nice cup of tea.. :) My friend moved out a while ago and it's harder living on your own as nobody can see what you're doing or comment on it- usually by now I'd be well on to my 3rd glass- knocking them back pretty quickly- then carry on....

I read someones comment earlier on the thread about buying booze at different supermarkets or shops- that was me too !!
Always had a comment like 'it's not all for me !!' and the shop assistant would laugh. Most of it (most of the time all) was for me !!

Keep thinking 'what have I become??'

Difficult to know what to do with myself, but easier than yesterday... going for a nice hot bath in a while and going to listen to Zero 7- chill out ahhhhhhhhh.....

    Morning all

I won't say "good" morning as I did it again last night. Got horrendously drunk and was absolutely hideous to my OH :( (bit of a replay of same thing I did a couple of years ago).

This morning my OH has asked me to stop drinking. And I agree with him. Got a lot to get my head around today.

    Miss P
    xx

Big hugs Miss P (()) and though it won't make you feel any better, everyone on here knows how you feel. I too have been there as have many.

Fortunately it is on very rare occasions as it is with you. We try and learn from the mistakes that we make, we can only try not to repeat them.

If we hold on to that intent then at least we are trying to change.

You are a lovely and caring person, you will work out whats right for you and your family I am sure, so big hugs and don't be hard on yourself, as Gc says " look back at whats past, but don't stare to long". :A (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I used to think that, but motivation follows action. I had to do something different, not just try harder. I tried for years, and only when I did something different (and got help) did things change.

For me, intent is nothing if I don't follow it through with action. I (and others) judge myself on what I do, not what I intend to do.

All the best Miss P (and you too Budgie) - we are here for you.
Sobriety is not easy for me, though it's much easier than drinking and the chaos that follows me picking up

    4/28 :)

Part of the reason for doing this is that though I don't get angry, I get thoroughly miserable when I drink too much, and cry over my OH, ask him stupid questions like "But WHY do you even like me, let alone love me?" (to which looking back sober, I wouldn't blame him if he said he wasn't too keen on me after all... crying is not something I can do with any semblance of grace! And desperation is never attractive. :(). I know moderation is harder than giving up completely, and after this month I intend to practise moderation... but I've also been continually run down and ill for ages, and feel I need a bit of a change in my outlook. Also, I was getting rather too cheered up by the first drink of the evening (or day, over Christmas...) and it isn't a reaction I like.

Anyway, waffle over, hope everyone else's days went as well as possible!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
