  • Afternoon all

    Happy birthday DB!!!

21 for me please Shaggy - and 6 please Pen!!

Not sure what to do about a target for January. Don't think I'll go for the full Monty - so please could you put me down for 15 Shaggy? Hopefully I should be able to achieve tha, and even get past it. :)

Went Sales shopping with Mum, Dad and Piglet this morning. Treated myself to a Union Jack bookmark and union jack apron from the Past Times shop (I'm rather mad on Union jack!!). Drew the line at the union jack frying pan though!:rotfl::rotfl:

Just finished my first Christmas book - Michael McIntyres autobiography. Was very good. Its been years since I got so many books for christmas - I'm in seventh heaven.

OH seems brighter today - he spoke to his ex-wife this morning and she's as upset as he is about his daughter and this boy. Think that made him feel a bit better as he was feeling quilty about being a bit hard on his daughter. I think she needs it though, to be honest. They really are a worry.

Anyway.. I'm off to sainsbugs for a quick shop.

  • Hi everyone

Just a random post for me today ...

My brother and his partner are at my parents house today - 1st time I've seen him since the summer. He has been 'let out for a couple of days' from a rehab(alcohol) place that he is in for 6 months as part of his suspended sentence condition (he slapped his step daughter (18) when he was drunk and got 3 months suspended for 12)

He's been off the booze for 12 weeks since being in and off the fags whilst he is in there and looks amazing compared to 4 months ago!!

We don't really get on but to keep mum and dad happy we went over to play 'happy families' for an hour or two.

Now we're home, Mrs BHB is stressed and wanting wine, ds3 is stressed because he put the football through grandad's greenhouse, & DD2 has earphones in and is currently sitting serenely and singing out of tune. I wish I knew the secret ;) (Not singing out of tune ..... being happy and stress free ;))

The car is playing up and is due for an MOT and a service, we've no money to pay for it (but oh-look I've found money to buy some beer :o. ) Hmm I see a pattern forming again.

I hate holidays - its much easier to 'regulate' the flow of alcohol when I have to go to work in the evenings. Trouble is, when I'm at work I can't wait for holidays :rotfl:

Just read that all back and I sound drunk - but I've only just started the first one. Guess I'm just in a rambling mood  ....sorry about that :D

    Babbling over :o

    Know what you mean :o

I seem to be on a Mission to eat and drink as much as I can before New Years Day.

I am going to swell up like Violet Beauegard soon :(

Same here, I can't remember the last time I had a drink 4 days in a row like this week due to the holibobs

    Pattern forming behaviour again

Anyway to stop the bells clanging I made a couple of nigella's mocktails - misletoe - 2 parts ginger beer to 1 part lime cordial and half a tsp lime juice and a zinger ginger beer 1 part to 2 parts pomegrante juice (I think its that way round! Might have got it mixed up). both are gorgeous so I'm hammered on pop and juice with no booze and its donw the trick of breaking the bells tonight
