Sorry, mostly thanks to yourself! You had to decide you wanted to do it and find the strength within yourself to act.

    Especially when times are tough.

I had a couple of flashpoints on Christmas day where a drunk me would have really let fly. But no. sober me grits teeth, counts to ten and regains control. Thank goodness!

Kids loved it and, looking back, don't think they can remember me drinking at all, which is good.

anyway, rambling in. take care all - hope you all had a good Christmas.

And was asleep by 8.30 - defintaely think thats the decongestant effect maman!

I'm so glad it's not just me! After last week's escapade falling asleep in theatre, I was nodding off on Christmas Day afternoon after some very moderate drinking over lunch. I ended up going to lie down for an hour while everyone else watched Dr Who. Then I got up (to be sociable but would have willingly stayed there:o) and had just tea for the rest of the day.

    hi everyone,

AF night on the 27th and only one beer yesterday...

    er.....yesterday was 27th I think?? :rotfl:

I am not sure how the challenges work, but I would like to be added, I think it will help with the motivation.

My challenge so far was to have 7 AF days between Dec 20-31 so far I have managed 4....

I'm sure Pen will add you to the specials for this week. I love retrospective challenges, I always hit target:D

    Best wishes to all.

Well done :T HS. I'm finding it very odd too. I'm off to football this afternoon so feel it should be a Saturday. really need to jump back on wagon (for calorie count alone) but I always have a drink on Saturday nights.....

Hope everyone's enjoying today, whatever you're up to.

Here was me thinking that cutting down on the alcohol would help my mind to be sharper.... and the minute I cut down I start getting my days mixed up... although I will cut myself some slack....isnt that what you are supposed to do when enjoying relaxing and stress free long holidays.....

maman: I would hate for my efforts not to be fully appreciated and recognised.... :money: a look back over the last few pages will evidence my allegiaance to my challenge at the beginning and reinforce my crediability;)... Hope you enjoy the footy is it the Man U match you are heading too? Football is a major weakness for me I feel I should have a beer in my hand when sitting watching a match....

  • Evening all

Well, had an ok'ish day. Took piglet to a living museum...edwardian streets and shops etc. It was great :)

OH feeling very down though. His daughter has got back together with this boy who keeps dumping her. She expects everyone to be happy about it, but I think OH is reaching the end of his tether. Especially when she tells them they're serious about each other and they've been sleeping together!. Whats with kids telling they're parents everything?? When I was her age I wouldn't have dreamed of telling my Dad things like that (mainly cos I wasn't doing them!:rotfl:). So OH is feeling very low. I haven't got a word out of him all afternoon. Very unlike him and it worries me slightly.:(

Did cross my mind this afternoon to put a bottle of wine in the fridge. But I decided against it. Think it wouldn't have been a good idea. So tonight will be AF. Have lined up a hot date with a hot bubble bath and Michael Mcintyres autobiography :).

  • AF for me yesterday so I'm up to ....
drum roll, wait for it that's 2/10 please Shaggy.

    :rotfl::o

Really impressed to see some high scores at the moment and lovely to see all the people popping in to say hi at Christmas.
  • Just for the record, we're not counting licqueur chocolates and Christmas pudding are we?

If so, I expect a few of us are stuffed - figuratively and literally. :)
  • Hi folks,

WBF - nice to have you around again and 2 is most definitely better than none. You will get where you want to be:)

Sorry to hear about your OH and his DS Miss P. It is really hard to watch your kids make mistakes. I'm having something similar here with my DS1. He is very miserable as his girlfriend suddenly wants some space and hasn't seen him for a couple of days. They have been going out for months and all seemed well. She gave him really nice Christmas presents and a beautiful card declaring her love for him so I thought all was well. Apart from advising him to let her have her space and not keep texting her, I don't know what to do. So I have every sympathy with your OH as I'm feeling really down now too. I have found Christmas quite difficult if I'm honest.

I'm 52 tomorrow so that will cheer me up - not

    Best wishes to all.
