  • Hi Maman, as it happens I have just logged on after several days absence.

I've not read back yet as there a lot of pages to catch up on.

Fact is I've been in hospital for a few days and have had some fairly serious surgery. I've got two more ops to look forward to in the new year. Luckily there were no complications but I was in DHU for 24 hours as a precaution. I am still feeling a little groggy from the anaesthetic. All this stemmed from a slightly iffy ECG reading a few months ago.

Shaggy I feel really guilty about not being here to take over the scoreboard. I really thought that I was to be admitted earlier in November but additional tests I had delayed matters. Hopefully I will be able to take over for January.

As far as being af is concerned I must confess to a 'few' the day before I was admitted, I felt so stressed. Nothing since though so I made 30 for November and 3 so far for December. I don't intend to drink so I don't think I will join any challenges for the present but I will keep posting.

Hope you are all OK, I will try and read the last few days later.

Hi RN. Sorry to hear about your surgery but glad there were no complications. I hope the coming ops go well and that you're back to full health early next year.:j

    Take it easy.
Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general :p
  • Hi RN, hope you recover quickly from the op :)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

AF all month so far - was supposed to be on a night out tonight but it was cancelled due to the weather - first the snow causing travel chaos and then the freezing cold that has replaced it today!

Makes a grand total of 3AFD so far for Dec - bring on the rest of the month!

  • Hi all,

Hugs Jo I hope you are ok tonight.

RN - sorry to hear what you are going through and glad your surgery went well. All the best for the other ops.

Caz - no wonder you are feeling down with all that going on. Great that you are loving your placement though.

First AF night for December so 1 for me please Shaggy.
Feeling like a right Mrs Misery here. Lots of things getting me down and can't seem to snap out of it. Feel like drinking just to forget it all but we all know that doesn't really work in the long run. Ho hum ......

Too right DB, you know that makes sense!

Good to hear from you RN. Sorry to hear about your health problems but you did sound quite upbeat considering:) You may regret volunteering for January due to New Year Resolutions!!

Not AF tonight (as planned) but I didn't have much, it seems that a small amount of alcohol is effective after AFness.
  • 1 af day for me please shaggy

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
