  • Good morning everyone

Thank you Shaggy for inviting me to join the challenge but, I'm hoping you don't mind if I don't?

Maybe slightly skewed thinking on my part, but I'm hoping to knock drinking on the head completely and I don't know if keeping count of the days will really help me in that or not. And if I do slip up, I don't want to feel I've failed by seeing a target not reached. Going to take it one day at a time. Hope you don't mind? I don't want to upset anyone on my first few days here!!:(

I was alcohol free last night. And know I will be tonight as I have arranged to go swimming with a friend. Figure I need to find different things to do of an evening, other than picking up a damned bottle.

We are all so very different in what works for us and in what we would be happy to achieve, so do whatever you feel comfortable doing and you'll get loads of support on here along the way :j

If you don't fancy a target, how about staying target free but still reporting your AF days to Shaggy? That way you still get the boost of seeing them add up without the pressure of a target. Just a thought :)
  • 1 for me please Shaggy and Pen

I resisted the bells so that's day one of the post-holiday cut back under my belt :j

  • Hi everyone,

I wasn't AF yesterday after all, so not the greatest start to November. :o

Had a blood test last week at the docs, as I've been ill for quite a few weeks now and I rang for the results today. Doc wants to see me about them - EEEK! Receptionist couldn't tell me why, so I am worrying now. And there weren't any appointments today, so I have to ring in the morning to see if there are any tomorrow, GRRR. I hate not knowing. Hope it's something and nothing - fingers crossed.

    Have a good day everyone.

I find it interesting that as a life long smoker I have become a social pariah. The government brings in smoking bans etc etc. (I agree with the bans btw) However I was never made to feel 'wrong' for being a !!!!head - or maybe I was too !!!!ed to notice!
When I was drinking I was mostly surrounded by other like minded drinkers who either don't accept they have a problem or deep down know they have a problem but there is an implicit agreement not to talk about it. In those situations I don't remember being made to feel 'wrong' (maybe I was too ****ed to notice as well!!!).
A small number of people did comment on my drinking and they were either very moderate drinkers or tee total.
I guess it depends on the people around us whether certain behaviours are acceptable or not.
  • Morning everyone I hope you are all well.

Ragdoll You seem really intent on moving forward alcohol wise. All the very best of luck.

Cazza Try not to worry about the blood test, It could be something really straightforward. I hope so anyway.
